Is this accuracy , what's to be expected from 4R36 Movements :?: Seems good to me ;)

never under estimate with seiko movement compare to swiss, i got mine + 5 sec avg

whats "4+ sec" , if its "fast" by "100 sec" , it also falls "under" the category of "4+ sec" right?

It gain 4 seconds .

Impressive accuracy. That works out to +2 secs/day doesn't it? Could probably beat many swiss mechanical watches out there flat.

+4 sec is very good.



was it +4sec when you wore it from 24-26 May? Or it was sitting in your drawer/desk/watch box the whole time?

if you wore it, which position did you rest the watch when you took it off to sleep?

- dial up?

- crown up?

- or u didnt take it off to sleep?



from my experience, all these little factors can affect the watch accuracy... for example; during the day the watch could hv gained +10sec, but when you rest the watch in a "dial up" position overnight (say 8hrs) it could have loss -8sec. So over a day the watch gained +2sec.. then you do the same thing the next night and it gained another +2sec... so in 2 nights, it gained +4sec.

if you placed it "crown up", it could lose -7sec.. then in 2 nights, your watch would be +6sec.



Also if the watch is brand spanking new, there is a "wearing in" period of a few weeks to a couple months (depending of how often you wear the watch).

During this period, the watch accuracy may sometimes change and then settle down.



Please keep monitoring and it'd be great if you can give us a detailed report in a couple weeks time. :)

i'm also considering getting a 4r movt to add to my collection.

I have worn it all day & taken it off at night , i rest it with the dial face up .

Stargate SKZ-325K1 / 7S36 , Accuracy check .

Started check =

27/05/13 -20:30 , end check 28/05/13 - 20:30 .

Result was 8 + seconds gain , my 7S36 runs less accurately when compared to 2 seconds gain on my 4R36 i tested .

How do you guys check ah?



BTW, Seiko 5 accuracy is it good or bad?

For Automatic watch , this is how i check (i am no expert) e.g '24hr Period' - Start 09:00 - End 09:00 next day , i set my watch to the exact second against online Atomic clock & revist online exactly same time & see the variance . ;)

Re-checking 4R36 accuarcy -

Start of check 02/06/13 - 11:15 , End of check 03/06/13 - 11:15 exactly 24hrs = 9 second gain :?

All hail the 4R36! Eta watch out now, Seiko's just gonna get even stronger.
