Alpinist 1995 -1997 , 4S15 Movement .

I am checking out with a view to purchase a Alpinist 4S15 caliber 95 to 97 model , the selling chap wants $740 .

Is this Alpinist with the 4S15 movement worth this price ? Am possibly going to view watch later today , it has white dial with gold hands .

The seller is singing the watches praises , saying its very collectable & movement is built as a chronometer ?

4s calibre is a ressutected King Seiko KS52 chronometer grade movement.

I love the 4s movement and it's history.

Sure it's not a pretty as Swiss movt, but it's hi-beat 28800 and I love how the Japanese kept the same finishing design of the movement so as to pay homage to its origin.

Is as big-e said, the 4S is a great movement which now commands a premium. $740 (AUD, I expect, so SGD$900+) does seem to be a bit on the high side, though to be fair most 4S watches have been increasing in price over the last 2-3 years (from anywhere between AUD $350-550). Green dialled one's are just beautiful, even the cathedral hands look like they fit... I def wouldn't mind one. ;)



Note there was an alternate Int'l version to this JDM one... Is not termed 'Alpinist', says 'Sports 200' on dial. If it says Alpinist, it's the JDM.

Thanks for the replys , the seller has withdrawn the watch from sale . The 4S15 caliber has a very nice Hi Beat 28800bph , i was hoping to have made a offer to purchase it .
