Nice... but do these get spoils very easily? like after some pulling and tugging?
Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
All these have survive more than a decade. Shd not spoilt so easily.
Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
I will usually take care of these vintage bracelets but

most Importantly is to check the individual beads before

purchase though not very possible for online purchase nor local.

There will be some beads that would be in lesser cond

than rest of bracelet, at times broken beads too.

However a good swiss BoR is not an easy catch. .probably

the process of searching as enjoyable as owning one.
Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
Not sure if this counts as a BoR.

Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
I suppose my Irreantum Magellan (one and only) can only be consider as BoR lookalike than true BoR, as the braclets are made of beads lookalike links, rather than individual beads (like those of jubilee bracelet type)

Yes still a BoR type just that its modern version just like

the modern doxa subs bracelet.

this is a nice thread! a mint condition vintage GF commands around 750 euros these days so better take care of your piece :) btw, which Seiko uses the BOR bracelet?

Oic.. While I've nvr handled a vintage BoR b4, I reckon the modern BoR won't be as comfy as the vintage due to its non-independent beads?

I have not worn a partial BoR bracelet before so not

sure if the wearer could feel the difference with those

small beads.

Individual beads to me are definitely comfy n fluid as it contours the wrist well.

Cons would be more maintenance to look out for.

Best thing about modern BoR style bracelet could be

the ease of resizing the beads link, row by row as compare to indivudual

beads on the vintage, which often prove a great challenge to resize.

This belongs to the 30m seiko sportsmatic silverwave with cal.66. It came

with a SQ clasp which is my own replacement until I can get a correct and nicer clasp.

I have seen few examples with such bracelet on this watch but not sure if its original to this watch.

Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
Thks for the insight bro oOsiMm.. ;)
Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
there are quite a few vintage brands with good quality BoR bracelets as you can feel how fluid the indivdual links + weight of the bracelets.

It will not be cost and prduction effective if some coy remade such bracelets(some prob already do).
Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
Since it's open to modern, here's my Doxa.

To answer dragonboat02, I will take a photo later. The BoR on Doxa is individual beads, I think....

woo.. individual ?sounds good for future modern doxa purchase.

anyway I have seen some models (not sure 250t/5000t/L.E/GMT) that has partial beads, like join in rows of 3 so not sure if it got to do with price factor?
Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
Oh nvm. I saw a pic, it's not individual beads lol. Later I go dig mine out, now clearing work.

Re: Beads of Rice Bracelets gallery
Sorry bros I might not have a watch to show but it was till I read this that I learnt about the name of this type of bracelet. Actually I have one salvaged to suit my vintage Titoni but because I couldn't find a suitably curved ends to link up with the watch casing, it was left as a unfinished project.

So this one consider a BOR?

Btw where can I find curved ends? Anyone has some to let go? It has to be suitably curved at the ends

Individual. All I can say is better check QC when receive. Got one lemon BoR from him. Didn't last 2 days but already too late to do anything.
