Seiko MUST Haves!!

Seiko MUST Haves!!
hello everyone! As my post count suggests, i'm a noob in this forum.

As some of u know, im eyeing the mini tuna, monsters and probably a 007 (Somehow when i see the 007 in the flesh/metal, don't feel the urge)

I'm interested in getting myself started in Seikos.... Can the collectors tell me what in their opinions are the classics / must haves in their collections?

any other seikos other than divers are also welcomed! best if you can attach a pic to it too heh!

Thanks in advance guys!
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
May be you can add the Sumo and Marinemaster 300 to your list, these 2 are higher end models and they are on my wishlist.

At the lower end, there is the Seiko 5 range. I have the SNZH53 and I absolutely love it

Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
Must haves - Spring Drive , Mechanical , Kinectic , Quartz , Solar . Get one of each , that way you have all of Seiko's technologies . The MM300 is a highly prized Seiko Diver's watch , as is a Grand Seiko .

fantastic shot Chris!

to op: besides the those already mentioned, if you covet rare and no longer in production pieces, there is the 6306-7000/6309-7040 ,the bullhead chronos, the 6159-7001 which is the MM300's predecessor, and the 6105.

list is not exhaustive of course, seiko has been around a long time and there are any rare models. these are just some of my favorites.
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
Diff individual have their own must have.....

Also depends on budget too.

For me is diver watches - tunas, mm300....blab blab

Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
If you ask me. At least a 200m diver. It can be the skx series, sumo, upsize to tunas or mm300.

A good diver will be a must have.

Agree , i actually dont even own a Seiko Divers watch . I purchased a Sumo new as a gift for my Bro inlaws Son that lives in SG , i damn near kept it for myself

I think my next Seiko will be a Diver , possibly a SBBN015 Tuna or Sumo . A MM300 Automatic is also on my Radar , but the price is not exactly cheap :)

bro i have to agree. i really dont feel much for the 007 when i saw it at k2. however, i've seen the snzh range and i kinda like it esp the black with gold accents snzh57. i'm thinking of swopping the bracelet with a brown leather strap. Any other suggestions guys?

Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
I would say mm300 but not all would wana fork out that type of money for a seiko.

If budget is a deciding factor, i would go for a entry level tuna like sbbn007.

Well if the Tuna is within your budget , just do it . If you change your mind , the Tuna has a good resale .
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
Buy 007 and Monster first. Then slowly graduate to buying Sumo and Samurai. Then get rid of all remaining poison by buying Marine Master 300, Flightmaster, Land Master, a tuna, GS diver's and a GS dress watch. Still not enough, buy vintage Seikos as well. Arhh yes, you need to consider Seiko Sinn too...just too nice to give it a miss. To inspire yourself, buy a 32 watch holder from bro Quasimodo. Buy buy buy..

no point keeping 50+ pcs when you only wear the same few rotation pieces...so...sold away most of my 'collection' pieces & kept only those I really wear

Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
if you wanna really talk about must have for seiko there are really plenty of them.

tunas, monsters, sardine, marine master, flight master, grand seiko, vintages... the list just go on and on...

I think it really depends on your budget, and of course what you really like. like they say one man's meat is another's poison. what I like you may not appreciate...

Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
Bro Lunarin,

The models u mentioned are really great ones from Seiko. Dearly, it is tempting!!!

Every Seiko on everyone's wrist gives a different charisma as well as unique aura. Each tells a great story of the owner!!!

Each Seiko is a must have!!! Haha.. :)

'Nah' not really just dont purchase any Patek Philippe , Rolex , Blancpain , Panerai , Omega , Tudor's etc etc ....

That will free up several hundred thousands of $$ for your Seiko must haves fund  :D
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
So far my grail is just a humble black face rolex sub

A watch that can suit both classy n rugged settings !

Just like a land rover defender

I'm weird I know lol
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
My 2 cents worth, a 007!
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
Waiting for the 007 bug to bite me...somehow no feel when I saw n touched 007 in k2... Sounds damn wrong sia
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
IMHO the 007 on jubilee is one of Seiko's most iconic watches. Just buy. It's a dem nice watch.
Re: Seiko MUST Haves!!
IMHO,

sumo, monster, samurai, tuna.
