Hi fellas! i'm new to this forum as well as collecting watches in general. Would like some advice if possible on the above mentioned model.



i'm interested in getting the mini tuna SRP 227. But i would also like to change it around too. Was thinking of swopping in yobokies's ss shroud as well as changing it to a hammer bracelet.



besides ordering from him, does anyone here know where i can buy them locally or 2nd hand for the shroud and hammer bracelet and will mr goh from K2 be able to fix both items on?



im gonna go by tmr to see if he has that model on hand.



Any advice will be very much appreciated!

he should be able to replace the shroud for you.. hammer bracelet if the end links fit



i think for the 227 it will look awesome with the metal shroud. I have seen ALOT of people buying the red shroud version from him.. and putting the red striped nato/zulu on.. and it looks.. awesome.. .. .. ..

K2 probably only sells Seiko bracelets and other OEM rubber/leather/nylon straps. Hammer is something created by yobokies, so your best source is still yobokies.

Oh, all SKX007 visually looks the same.



J is Made in Japan, K is Made outside Japan.



The other models probably just different version on rubber strap and bracelets.

I went to scour for the mini tuna just now. Was quoted 310 for a made in Japan model. Is that a gd price ?

yea bro....im thinking of getting the orange monster older model and swopping the metal bracelet with red fang's rubber strap.



that way i can get a rugged looking orange monster and a suitable for work red fang..and i much prefer the older orange monster to this current version

lemonjelliee, just to share that I've gotten the older model orange monster last mth fr K2 and am enjoying every moment of it.

somehow, the older OM appeals to me more than the newer model.

i rather u get the bracelet and purchase the rubber strap seperately.if u were to buy the rubber strap version,next time backside itchy wanna buy the bracelet will not be cheap.

Be skeptical of "Made in Japan" tag, the usage of "Made in ..." all depends on what the laws are for the place of sale. These are also only sold as parallel imports in Singapore (except for a few recent exceptions which came with TS warranty); same for Japan, USA, etc. where laws on this are fairly strict.



The market these MIJ watches are actually meant to be sold, somewhere in the ME, is likely not too strict on the manufacturing location tag.



I have seen some posts that ME countries allow a watch to be tagged MIJ if the movement is made in Japan, but have also seen others claim that ME countries allow MIJ if the manufacturing / QC process is designed in Japan. However, never seen any proof either way.



My thoughts: If any part of the watch was actually Made in Japan (J variant) rather than Malaysia / Singapore / China / etc. (K variant), why are J's being sold for less than the K's given that manufacturing costs in Japan are higher? *shrug*

Hi,

I'm looking for baby tuna SRP227, SRP233 or SRP234, do you guys know where can i get??? and i also contact yobokies about the SS shroud and the DLC shroud. BTW wil the SRP233, SRP234 & DLC shroud black coating drop or chip away? I also saw some others forum say that the DLC shroud got some problem.

I emailed yobokies and i got the auto-replied saying that we were closed for the Summer but will reply to emails if we have internet access.

Next shipment date will be Aug 12, 2013. As for the watch i will try to call Mr Goh see he have any stock left.

i called Mr.Goh, he told me that currently he don have stock and ask me to wait for 1 to 2 week. So ytd i went to Kwang Guan Watch and Pen Shop to search for watches.

I manage to found one, he quote me $400 for SRP227K with seiko warranty should i get that or should i wait for Mr.Goh to restock?

The uncle from Kwang Guan Watch and Pen Shop told me that if you get the watches from some shop like.... you may end up getting a fake seiko watches or the seiko watches may not be recognise for warranty from the local seiko company cos the shop does not have distributor rights.

Lastly should i get watches with the shop warranty or the seiko company?

IMO no difference in terms of quality and reliability. But psychologically, I prefer J to K.

I haven order the shroud from him. I think it will take 2 to 3 weeks since it from HK and I'm staying in SG. Thinking of getting dome sapphire too! Mr. Goh did not keep my watch. Haha I'm waiting for him to sell me a fresh sardine.
