Swapping movements

Swapping movements
Is it possible to swap a 4r36 movement into an older watch with a 7s26 movement?
Re: Swapping movements
any idea?
Re: Swapping movements
Movement is the easy part, i think, stem n crown to match the case can be tough.

What watch you modding ?
Re: Swapping movements
No, 4R36 has just slightly different measurements from the 7S26, essentially needing more clearance from the movement's body for the hands:

Re: Swapping movements
Hmm... isn't 7Sxx is a little smaller than 4Rxx?
Re: Swapping movements
Looks to be essentially the same:

Not sure how significant the difference from the dial holding spacer is, but the specs reference 2936 as the case fitting diameter for both movements...

As xzqt said, though, you'd need to find a crown which would work. Alternative is to do a trip-lock or other type of conversion... just don't ask me how. ;)
Re: Swapping movements
specifically, i'm thinking of putting a 4r36 into my the seiko stargate. i don't care for hacking, but i need manual winding!
