I have not been so excited in the last few weeks.



I was wondering if there is anyone out there who is as excited as i am regarding the Japanese Yen at this moment.



I like to take this opportunity to start a thread to track the JPY.....



Why?? Hell.. we all love our Japanese Watches right??? The Heck!!! I will start a EUR, Dollar, Sterling rates for reference and tracking too....



What i can see is that the JPY to SGD is currently at one of it lowerst levels since the Lehman Crisis.


10000 JPY = 125.10 SGD

100 USD = 123.71 SGD

100 EUR = 161.80 SGD

100 GBP = 189.80 SGD

Bro no use lah...all dealers regardless watch or even ur helmet same...

U ever hear chiap lee say yen drop n arai price drop???no rite???watch also same...when drop price remain...when up tel u cost high as yen up!!!

Astro bro, I usually buy online that's why like spider.

Also planning to go get some radiation therapy since yen low.

Maybe can hoot something...If dun have or not cheap...

I go there eat more sushi.

The Japanese online sellers are smart though, I noticed Rakuten sellers have adjusted their prices accordingly to the yen's depreciation.

Those who buys online, will definitely be able to save much when other currencies depreciates.

Last year, when euro was down, i hoot more auto chronos from europe than any others who just see and choose the one they like. This year, you guyz didn't see me noot much in the first season right? It's human nature lah... As for those who prefer to buy locally, will definitely have to sacrifice some amount, as the local sellers won't sell low, even if the particular currency they claimed to offer in the website may have depreciated in real time.



For example...

2yrs ago, when i bought a watch from the particular seller, during that time 1 USD was to 1.35 SIN, after making the payment, i do a post calculation, i found that the watch i bought priced with GST is calculated @ 1 USD to 1.45 SGD.

2yrs passed, when i look back at the same model price listing, and SMS for a quotation. Get a reply from the seller on his selling price which includes GST, again after some calculation, still falls to 1 USD to 1.45 SGD! And today's x-rate is about 1.28 SGD to 1 USD.



So, do you think you save more? Or pay more?

When i vist Singapore , am always happy with Seiko prices in SG . I bring my Australian $$ & negotiate the best exchange rate , then hunt around the many Seiko retailers for the best deal for the particular Seiko piece am after , then prior to leaving claim GST back at Changi Airport , 90% of the time its cheaper for me to buy in Singapore . :D

i think yen goes to 115-120 in about a year or so. anyways its the best time to buy watches in japan i have done this previously. bought a couple of watches when yen was 115 last. made good $ flipping it. And u can see fom auction sites Japanese are basically selling their precious metals, watches, jewellery right now. basically running away from yen. so yes its exciting. lookat the AUS/Yen lol

Looks like the 100 JPY / 1 USD might finally be broken this coming week depending on the BoJ decision, and who knows where it might go from there. Provided that the Singapore dollar stays strong, looks like it's going to be an interesting summer. ;)

Well, after hitting $1.22 / Y100 three weeks ago, the JPYSGD is now back to the $1.25 / Y100 levels. Hopefully doesn't drop too much more, got more watches to buy! :lol:



The SGD's also seen a little weakness against the USD recently. Still, 1.25's not bad! ;)
