Pricing of GS

Pricing of GS
Hi guys,

Does anyone know whether the pricing of GS will happen to be cheaper in Japan compared to purchasing locally from TS?

Also, will it be cheaper to get it from shops or at the airport?

Will have a chance for a work trip soon, and will be transiting via Japan. So am thinking whether to extend my stay there for 1-2 days to look around and get a GS :D
Re: Pricing of GS
You would imagine it should be cheaper to purchase a Grand Seiko in Japan :?: Thong Sia , while visted them "while i was in Singapore" i purchased my Ananta Automatic & they offered me a 10% discount & i collected the GST @ the airport prior leaving Singapore , it worked out for me cheaper to buy in Singapore @ Thong Sia "when compared to Australian prices" . ;)
Re: Pricing of GS
Take a look at Seiya's page for an indication of prices in Japan:

http://www.seiyajapan.com/category/1_grand_seiko/" false;

Note that he's built all his (justified) overhead into the prices shown, between 10%-20% for normal Seiko's, not sure how much for Grand Seiko's. On the other hand, Master Shops may not be offering the same discounts as are available for normal GS...
Re: Pricing of GS
Yup, I also noted that Thong Sia doesn't carry all the models of GS available, seems like there are only some appointed "Master Shops" which carry specific models.

I compared a Spring Drive model, and the difference in prices between TS and Seiya works out to about S$900 (taking into account -10% TS discount, and +7% GST for Seiya and USD conversion)
