Seiko SBPG001 Power Design Project LCD .

I have been checking out Seiko LCD Quartz watches , i noticed "Seiya San" has several to choose from .

The two am looking at is the SBPG001 power design project & comparing it to the slightly lower costing SBFG001 spirit .

Has any members here seen these in the flesh ? Is there anything one should be aware of before even considering such watch ?

Which of the 2 is a better watch , cost aside ? Both are virtually same specs , only slight variations .

What concerns me is that LCD screens have approx 7yr life expectancy , but surely many last much longer than that ?

Also is it expensive to replace new LCD screen & backlights , are parts readily available ?

sorry bro, unable to advise much for I'm not really a digi person and don't think I'll spend a few hundreds on 1,lol.



seiko digi model, if I'm really seriously getting in 1, I'll prob go for the vintage old school Seiko digi models, cost much lesser than these current ones and of course, do not harbour high hopes on servicing the vintage digis should the watch faces any issues. prob just chuck it one side & get another one,lol

I first research before even considering to purchase anything . Personally i like LCD Seiko's , they remind me of my teen yrs in the 80's , when owned a Seiko LCD Quartz . Back those days , Seiko LCD's were considered very high tech , James Bond "007" even used them :lol:
