Hi,



New member here, looking for some recommendations on Seiko dress watches. I have in my radar the cocktail time series namely, trying to look for a SARB0568 locally, but can't seem to find it anywhere.



I am going for the clean look, no need to be chrono. Do you guys have any other recommendations?

Any of the SARB series are under your budget. A SARB 068 is near impossible to get unless you intend to pay through your nose. However a SARB017, 065, 066, 023,045 are all available at Big Time in Sims Ave. TS has some but the prices will be higher. These models all utilize the 6R15 movement which is a decent movement with a power reserve of about 50hrs. Btw, SARB, SARX are all JDM so they would not be as easy to get locally as compared to the other regular watches.



You have your kinetic range which are also within budget but they are not mechanical watches. There is a wide range and you do need to do some research going round before deciding what you would like. Anyone can recommend a watch and there a plenty under 1K. But budget, size, style, color will have narrow the search. Happy hunting!



The ones up there are vintages and also under your proposed budget. CEO has good recommendations!

CEO: The vintage KS are nice. Went to the blog to look at it. Just wondering, for such watches, assuming i bought them, is it possible to get the glass replaced? I am pretty anal when it comes to scratches on the display.

SARB n SARX ranges are what i am looking at right now. Those are classy dress watches ^^



Any idea if i can find SARX009 locally? That seems quite nice too.



Would the following criteria be sufficient?

Budget: 1K +-

Size: 40-42mm diameter

Style: Clean face

Color: White / Black / Rose Gold / Brown / Green / Blue

Others:

Prefer Sapphire Crystal if possible.

I can recommend the SARB023J , very nice dress watch . Its got 6R15 movement which better quaity than your avarage Seiko movement , Thong Sia Seiko . :)

the condition of the watches are usually good from this local seller.



Sometimes replacement crystal but not original can be found in Khatena.



Or you can try Teo Heng at tanjong pagar

the SARX001/003/005/007/008/009 meets all your specifications:

Size: 40mm diameter (excluding crown)

Style: standard 3 hands (Clean face)

Color: White / Black / Rose Gold / Brown / Green / Blue

Crystal: Sapphire



i guess all you need is to decide on color and find the best price. :D



alternatively, you can check out any of the Seiko Presage line, all of which have sapphire crystal if i remember correctly.

Seiko Mechanical line has a wider range which also includes the Seiko Spirits (SARBs), but most of them are 38-40mm and not all have sapphire crystal.

I would recomend the Seiko SCVS013 Blue Spark ... not sure if it's still readily avaliable new ...
