i just got to know this forum from a friend. wanted to buy a skx007 for my wife as her V day gift tmw. Anyone owns this watch? do u all like it?





where u all usually go to buy seiko watches in singapore.

A few online shop got carry (aka skywatches) they offer j model or the normal k

almost all retail shops carries this brand, if not all, at least 90% carries this model



try K2, sure have stocks.

I could be wrong but I thought the Seiko 5's usually have a depth rating of 100m while the entry level diver's usually come from the superior range?

Agree with CEO. The skx007 and 009(pepsi) are the two most common pieces. Almost a dime a dozen.

I started collecting Seikos because of this beautiful watch that I bought from a small shop in my neighborhood. I was so impressed by the look of it that I just hoot.

hello...my friend just bought a skx013 from K2 last sat, as he have small wrist and thinks the skx007 do not look good on him...think unless if your wife have big wrist (no offence) or likes bigger watches, if not maybe you can take skx013 into consideration...both watches are the same except for the size, senior bros please correct me if i am wrong...



when i saw the skx013, i was shocked at its level of finished and details compared to its price...its very beautiful imo...much more better than photos u can find online of it...

Yes the skx013 is indeed a nice smaller version.



But if this is available, I'd rather go for this.



I managed to get two on different occasions last year at mustafa but now hard to find. Shoulda bought a few back then.

Actually I beg to differ. That one doesn't look like the mm at all. I find thus one bears a closer resemblance.

Oops sorry. I got them mixed up. I meant the pic I posted looks more like a sumo. Mixed up sumo and mm. You're right the 007 looks like mm.

Paid $285 for it n trade back the rubber strap. The model I bought is a J series. Cost slightly more compared to the K model.

Hello Bros and Sis, I'm interested in buying the SKX007K and so far the cheapest pricing I found in SG is SGD210. I came across Rakuten and saw the Jubilee version for SGD170 and the Rubber version for SGD155. Do you think it's worth it to buy from Rakuten instead?



Also, may I know whether I can get the original rubber strap from shops outside and est. how much? Thinking of buying the metal strap version and getting a seperate rubber strap.

Imho always buy bracelet then go for after market rubber or leather straps. That is most cost efficient. Again, this is purely personal point of view, if you want the K version why not just buy locally? Even the J version is readily available. I prefer to handle the piece before I buy. Its really your preference.

You can go down to K2 to check if Mr. Goh have any 007 recently. He definitely has ths rubber straps.

Some shops do give both rubber and bracelet. Cost may vary.

Most ppl claim there are no difference between the 2 other than the "made in japan" on the dial and rotor (irrc)

This has been discussed lots of times in many forums. Do a search and you shall be rewarded.

Really it is a matter of preference and perception.



Made in Japan always invokes an assurance of quality while some may beg to defer. There are also discussions as to what qualifies a product to be stamped with the place of origin. Personally, I just like the red wording and the tiny MIJ at the 6 oclock. It gives the J varient a seemingly higher quality "feel". Then again that many would beg to differ.



Main thing is to enjoy what you want and get it on on wrist!

If you are going for a bracelet, remember to check out tungchoy on ebay. He does after market super oysters with solid end link. Not cheap but might suit you. :)

The SKX007 also looks good on leather strap, very "customizable".
