[31113 New Addn.]-[SWATCH]- First Mechanical Chrono Addition
After the last acquisition of the first mechanical SWATCH last month, i have more interest grown in me getting other Mechanicals from other SWATCH range. While i have lots of interest with ETA775x complex Automatic Chronograph Movements, i was having interest to know what a C01.211, "toned down LEMINA" movement may feel like... so as of interest with TISSOT PR200 chronographs which were using this movement then. However, comparing the price of the TISSOT against UHR which i had took in last year... it seems that the TISSOT is too much expensive which i could can get a true blue 7750 from UHR competitively.
I knew that SWATCH Auto-Chronos are using the C01.211 movements. However, due to my focus on the 7750s, i have lost much attentions on the release of SWATCH Auto-Chronos over the past 2yrs. It's kind of late now for me to start with SWATCHes' C01.211 this year...
The first impression i have with this first SWATCH Auto-Chrono adding into my collection, it's light, it's plastic, yet not so cheesy. Thanks to the brown vintage strap, brown dial with silver subdial ring decorations, that balances the cheap feel of the watch in whole which is highlighted by the generic common simple hands used in hour and minute as well as the chronograph needle which is barely noticeable.
The watch may look big, but not really as big as what i have with other auto-chronos. Lug to lug, it feels like the STEINHART APOLLON which i have, which easily makes one feels as if the watch is as big as 47mm, yet, not. Height wise, it's high like any other 7750 based auto-chronos, with totally flat out sapphire glass. A look onto the dial, the "high" internal seconds bezel produce an image that the movement is much more slimmer than any other auto chronos.
The movement

The slightly vintage brown strap that comes banded, have some kind of Crocodile skin finish, blends well with the half classic look of the watch. Length is long enough to wrap my wrist well with extra allowance.
Onto the movement. The C01.211 have been released for sometime now. Appeared first in SWATCH Auto-chronos that was introduced in 2010, then was used in most of the TISSOT Auto-chronos now, as well as some CERTINA models. There were some experience shared in various forums that the movement wobbles "live" as well like 775x. However, i couldn't feel it with this SWATCH. Maybe it's lighter weight on the movement due to more plastic parts used than 7750? The C01.211 used in this SWATCH Auto-Chrono is hackable.

I guess... from today onwards, till end 2013, i might be paying more attentions to the SWATCH Auto-Chronos, even though the chances of getting all the models released is pretty small.
