Spring bar failure !!

Spring bar failure !!
OMG today I picked up my FF mod and put it on.

Within 10s, it suddenly broke free and dropped from about wrist level !!

I managed to break the fall and it sort of slide down on my pants from my knee to toe.

What a relief that it didn't fall with a thud. First thing in mind was what failed. Guess what.

If I'm not wrong, it came stock with the watch.

Re: Spring bar failure !!
Guess the spring bar was not properly inserted into the lug hole.

Quick reflex save the day !
Re: Spring bar failure !!
a nato or zulu strap would have helped in this case!!!!! watch body still dangling on 1 spring bar
Re: Spring bar failure !!
Good catch.
Re: Spring bar failure !!
The last time I wore this watch, was for almost a week and nothing happen and I was wearing it for the past 2 days too.

Maybe the weather is too hot, my wrist expanded, pushing against the mesh and the spring bar just give way. Or I just got fatter :(

Oh well, I just adjusted the bracelet for a loose fit.
Re: Spring bar failure !!
wow the springbar was actually bent. seems like these thin bars flex quite easily.

Ok... thanks! Thin bars not strong for rugged sport wear lei..... I think will put my new 55 mod on leather better.... or another way is to put a collar to support the thin spring bars....
Re: Spring bar failure !!
wa sian lei i bought these to use aftermarket rubber on my diver. looks exactly the same

seiko fat stock bars are great but too pui to squeeze into rubbers, go in see the hole stretch so much very xim tia lol
Re: Spring bar failure !!
No choice, the watch is only as secured as the weakest link, which is the spring bars.

Unless it's on a one piece strap like NATO or Zulu like what phantom mentioned.
Re: Spring bar failure !!
For safety sake, do people regularly change their spring bars after several years (even though it's still working) ?

I read from WUS that this guy changes spring bars every time he change a strap.

Talk about extreme safety.
