just wana share this malay stall i recently found out at 703 Hougang Ave 2 coffee shop.The nasi lemak is v nice. They have chicken wings too.

near guan yin temple in bugis also have quite a good char siew/roast duck stall.
i remember it's quite affordable also. they also serve soup.
and they are quite generous with their sauce. the queue starts at 11am
pictures all taken from online.
Nothing beats the one we had at Jalan Alor.

There was a porridge stall at Jackson Place (already demolished), anyone knows where it moved to?
moved opp the koipitam the famous prawn noodle, same rd u go into jackson.
the kopitiam also house zhong zhong 5 spice from jackson.
the prc gal selling the porridge think became the "taochew" of the stall...
but i haven been there for mths liao....

Wow thanks! I just had porridge at a porridge (coffee) shop , really cannot make it (in Hougang).

Yeah, the Lao Zhong Zhong 5 spice is a must eat. Very reasonably price, take a piece of everything also wun more than $15. Must ask for the fried bean curd (dou gan), freshly fried when ordered.

prices have change gradually up since moving over from jackson.
slight full plate will come up to 10-15 liao depending on items.
the chilli they prepared is the key item for me to keep going back.

But still affordable compare to other 5 spice stalls who just simply "chop" you. And the shear volume they sell, everything is freshly made or fried on that day itself.

Local popiah cannot fight lah... wrap only turnip shreds, bean sprouts, mashed eggs, as well as some crunchy stuff and prawn paste...

more meaty with choice of either tuna, chicken shreds, or even fillet,
more juicy with mayonnaise, custard, or other sauces,
some more with healthy fresh greens! :mrgreen:
AngMoh popiah have a easy to remember name, called, "The Wrap"!
You can make your own, or go to KFC or go to TACO-Bell!
