Seiko's Hardlex Crystal vs Sapphire Crystal for Divers watches , how scratch resistant is Hardlex ?
From what i understand Hardlex is better suited for divers watches , as its more impact , pressure resistant than Sapphire . Only Sapphire is more likely to break or shatter on hard impacts , but Sapphire resists scratches more . Hardlex rated 7+ on mohs scale & 9 mohs scale for Sapphire , also i am told the Hardlex that goes into Seiko 5 Divers is not the same Hardlex used in Prospex Divers . And that Omega specifically fit Hardlex to their space use watches , feel free to add your expriences or comments .
