Hi Guys,



Advice needed on the above. I have an incoming watch that attract GST. Wonder have anyone had their watch(preown) courier over using USPS. How does I make payment to the GST?

For USPS, it will be held @ the customs office in SingPost, you will receive a letter that your parcel has reached Singapore and detained at the customs.

Ja lat.. never read this thread before buying..

gonna hit with GSt with another watch.. tot shipping cost will be excluded.. with fedex for this one..



Singpost will withheld my parcel? I have indicate my office address as destination. Wonder how will i know when to collect at SingPost??

You will get a letter addressed to your office, stating your parcel got retained.

Yup and you have to make a trip there to pay gst and collect your stuff.

But strangely, I had mailed wines back from oz using ems all at the same time but each addressed to a different address. Only one got detained and needed me up pay taxes and duty. The other two were sent to the addresses.

I had a watch sent using EMS, speed post delivered it to my address. The delivery man collected the GST with an additional $5 admin charge. FYI.

That's the thing, I believe beside the SGD400 condition, the customs will also look out nice new looking boxes that's professionally packed.



I have some that above SGD400 but it's pre-owned, sloppy packed and sealed, so I guess they didn't really bother checking..

Actually, if someone is there to collect, you can pay straight away even with USPS. (cash & signed) If you self collect at Singpost paya lebar, hope you have the receipt of some sort(PayPal printout is ok) or email from seller as they may ask.

Computation of GST should include shipping fee but its really chance. Sometimes, it'll slip by and there's no GST to be collected. But think this is rare.



Express mail is fastest but also most expensive. International priority can insure more from what I know if you need it. Express is limited from my experience though you'll get it faster.

received the parcel, no collection of GST ?

but the parcel outside clearly show USPS customs declararion and disptach note...

maybe bomb will come by letter??

if the package is handled by SP, there's a tendency that you may not get taxed. But... there will always be chances against your expectation.
