Re: Seiko JDM , Alpinist SARB059J .
Thanks to your (evil) advice I'm looking at other JDM's. Was at Thong Sia last saturday before visiting Big Time and K2 (where you saw me) but didn't find anything interesting. I need a big watch, so may looking at the Cocktail Time (SARB065) and Fieldmaster (SBDC011). Can't seem to make up my mind.
I'm also looking at 6R20 & 21 movements as a slight 'upgrade'. Spotted online the SPB001 & SPB005 but no stocks everywhere, even online. The SARC models also look nice. WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO??????? =p
Re: Seiko JDM , Alpinist SARB059J .
Thanks "Funksoul" , I personally think the MM300 is "AWESOME" but way too expensive for me :o enjoy your search for a possible new JDM , its part of the fun in buying a new watch . ;)P.S no more Seiko's for me now , the minister of finance has shut me down
Re: Seiko JDM , Alpinist SARB059J .
Re - funksoul , the cocktail SARB065J is very nice . The fieldmaster most likely suit you more , the premier are classy also "happy hunting" . :)
Re: Seiko JDM , Alpinist SARB059J .
Gives you the means to communicate by reminding you the distress codes meaning , to mark into dirt or sand , so aeroplanes etc can read your distress signal you marked into the ground possibly using a knife or piece of wood you found .
E.g - I = require doctor , LL -All Well , F- Require food & water , X - Unable to proceed etc .
Seems gimicky , but it can be usefull & movable compass dial bezel can be used to mark the sun's postion etc
Re: Seiko JDM , Alpinist SARB059J .

So now that i have purchased 2 JDM's as gifts (SBDC001 -SARB023J) for family here in SG , the Ananta & Alpinist are for myself , i can settle down now .

Re: Seiko JDM , Alpinist SARB059J .
I was told while visting Big Time today , that my SARB059J is discontinued & they dont have stock of this model . Thong Sia also mentioned it was their last piece , am glad i got one .While wearing it , i notice the dial that looks black is actually a very nice dark green .
This watch is proving to be a favourite , as i havent stopped wearing it since purchasing it :)
