Hi, I am new here, not an avid watch collector, but someone who is just looking for a nice watch for everyday use. :D



Just 2 days ago, I told myself if my 3yo (i think) Seiko5 Military's glass cracks the second time, I will buy another new watch. And so, just so coincidentally, it really cracked after i accidentally hit against the lift door. :roll:

So now i have decided to source for a new watch to pamper myself this christmas. Will I be a poser if i am not a diver but i am wearing a diver watch? :oops: And also Is there any value for my old watch? :cry:



This looks kind of nice, but is it worth to get this model since the new model is already out? Mustafa is selling this for $573.

1. Nope, you will not be branded as a poser if you wear a divers watch.... Same theory goes to aviator / pilot watch... It's not meant for Pilots only... Most Divers watch are chunky, heavy, rugged and has nice lumes. They will make adequate daily beaters. In fact people will "feel" you must be "sporty" typed too. So go ahead, no one will laugh



2. Don't think your old watch will have much value with a cracked glass. Well you can try to K2 and see if it can be repaired by getting a new glass but mig not be worth to do so.... Unless the watch has sentimental values to you... Then why not? Repair it.



3. Go get yourself a new Orient!! IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!

Er.. the cracked glass gave me an excuse to finally buy a new watch. :mrgreen: As the M-force are not exactly cheap, therefore I am looking around for more options around the price range. :cry:

I also agree get a new Seiko or Orient for Christmas gift to yourself , maybe it be still worth repairing your Seiko 5 . :)

Recently, after I saw a Tissot Visodate at Mustafa, i started to see watches as my second hobby.



I didn't buy the Visodate cos the more I look at watches, the more I'm drawn to Orient. Orients are cheap and good; hope to get at least one next month.

Yup go get a seiko diver watch, I am not a diver also but i love the looks and feel of diver watches.

You have been wearing a military watch, but it doesn't mean you are in the military forces right? haha
