My 4R36 SRP227 is not running accurately
Hi guys, I bought a SRP227 from Mr Goh 3 weeks back and i am not very happy with it's accuracy (although it's within it's specs).

My watch is losing about 15-20 secs per day and i have been wearing it for the past 3 weeks.

It's a parallel import piece and i wonder if i can ask Mr Goh to regulate the watch for me.

Or do you guys have any other advice? My previous Spork and current SRP311 have always given me less than +\- 5 secs per day.

When you go visit him again, tell him the problem and let him do the test with his instrument.

If got discrepancies detected, he'll most likely to tune for you for free, as he covers the warranty mah...

I believe it's call a timegrapher...



It listens to the beat of your watch and determine if it's beating fast or slow.

its best to just bear with the inaccuracy if it's withing the specs. Mr Goh will ask you how often you wear your watch and tune it accordingly, unfortunately, the accuracy will change once again when you've gotten over the "new toy" phase and stop wearing it everyday. I have a watch that's dead accurate when I wear it daily, but gains about 25seconds a day when it's on the winder.

Thanks for all the advice. I spoke to mr Goh earlier and he said he can adjust the watch for me. I would prefer it to run slightly faster than to lose timing. Personal preference.

However I shall just monitor it for another week, before I decide if mr Goh should regulate it.

Got my watch regulated by mr Goh today.

Was amazed by the equipment he has, never knew what it was until I see him use it today. It can actually check the pulses of the watch based on sound and in a few seconds he can deduce whether the watch is running too fast or slow even by the seconds.

Shall monitor it tonight and let u guys know the results tmr.

I must say I am extremely satisfied with his tuning so far. Up till now I am getting a +/- 2 secs reading.

No idea man. Just give him a call first. Don't think he will charge too high.

Hey there.. I just bought it from Mr Goh, three weeks ago, since am new to automatic watch how do I check if mine is running accurately?

and, what are the things that I have to look out for, checks, etc to maintain my watch?

Just note that the movement need some running in, so the time keeping will improve over time.



Rudd, welcome, usually we set the time against an accurate source, so probably some time servers on the Internet, say you set it at 9am, then you monitor every 9am to see if the time keeping drift.

Time.gov is one such service. It normally uses java, but there is a non-java version if you can't see it on your phone / computer.



To really track it, you should set up a table so you can see how it varies each day. :P
