Having searched & read other posts , regarding Seiko's 6R15 movement . Just how good is this caliber , can one expect many years of trouble free service ? From what i gather its a quality caliber , that i can expect accurate & trouble free service from .
Any feedback ?

i had an seiko spork, srp043 running on 6R15. Served me well for the past 2 years with very accurate timing. Gain a minute a month.

Ermm... I think the spork uses 4R15 movement.
6R15 is commonly used in Seiko's Spirit line (sli higher end) and has handwinding and hacking function.
IMO, Japanese movement is like a japanese car. Can last very long, maintainence cheap.
I asked Irene from Bigtime whether I need to send my 3y/o Royal Orient for servicing, she tell me "No headache, dont eat Panadol" =p

Nice quote , similar to "if it aint broke , dont fix it" . But am thinking it be best to service a watch every 5 yrs @ the very least .
