Recommend me a daily beater

Recommend me a daily beater
Hi all, i just sold off my seiko sinn/spork yesterday and before that i was using the old black monster as my daily beater.

As i currently own the ion coated srp311 monster as my weekend watch, i would like you guys to recommend me a daily beater watch.

I am reluctant to use my ion coated monster as my job is very physical and i may scratch my watch easy thus an ion coated watch is not recommended.

My budget is not more than $350 preferably and i am not into older makes of seikos.

Any recommendation from you guys????

how about the srp baby tuna/sardine can series? it has a plastic shroud that can be replaced quite easily. it also uses the same movement as your srp 311.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
Thanks for your contribution. Don't really like the hands of the baby tuna. But i will consider it.

In this case, you're most likely to be limited to the latest monsters, or the Seiko Military with nato strap. Nothing else.

Is there any official bracelet for the military series? What's the lug size?

And I only see 3 variants for it.

Get a G shock. More practical for physical jobs.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater

Re: Recommend me a daily beater
k2 has a 7002 diver in the display cabinet, pretty gd condition, use that as a beater

definitely saves u easily $100+ from your expected budget

a beat up 7002 can be sexy
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
I am also considering srp025 which I thought resembles my previous Spork.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater

Mr Yeoman reckons it looks like a 'Piston' while others call it 'Puck', I like 'Piston'.

Cheers

Re: Recommend me a daily beater
I'd say get a Sumo... very comfortable!
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
but sumo is about 600-700.....
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
SKX007, reasonable price, easily resell, plenty of parts, plenty of mod parts.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
skx007 has already stop production or not? Seems like still so popular and many in the market....
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
I got a preloved orange Sumo for his budgeted amt. Can find but got to keep eyes wide open.

Or even one of the Seiko 5 divers... pre-loved is a good way to go... meet budget and get some good loot!

Re: Recommend me a daily beater
If you are working with a budget of < $200, do consider the skx series. They are truly a beater tool watch with plenty of rooms for customisation down the road.

If you have a slightly higher budget, another watch to consider would be the Seiko Fifty Five Fanthom aka FFF. :)

Serious? Got lobang let me know again.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
The SKX007/009 are good choices. Also can consider a Stargate as it is simple yet elegant.

For quartz models I can suggest getting a Kinetic divers or Daytona.

Most of these can be had online (used) for under $200.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
I feel that the recent divers, regardless of seiko solar or franken or monsters are all worthwhile VFM daily beaters... Its good enough for formal and also sporty enough for outdoor time

Re: Recommend me a daily beater
Finally decided on my new beater watch and it is the regular baby tuna srp227. Got it today from Mr Goh at k2.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
My new hoot.

My pair of seikos.

The lume that I love.

Re: Recommend me a daily beater
after 'spork' I think it will be hard for you to wear skx007

I would say Sumo will be the only option, but it will be hard at the moment to get a pre owned Sumo at your target price.
Re: Recommend me a daily beater
both looks very nice
