SIC my friend's work

SIC my friend's work
Caught up with my friend yest.

I knew he is into modding watches & such, for seikos & other stuffs, well, seiko mods are quite popular within the seiko community hence I asked him to show me his other modded stuffs.

Besides modding Jap watches, he also mod Swiss watches, mainly lolecs & Pams, mods as in creating those 'aged patina' look on the markers. He showed me a GMT yest & it does looked pretty good, nicely done as well.

Re: SIC my friend's work
Wah, the hands is also aged ?
Re: SIC my friend's work
yup, i believe he did the mod for the dial & hands
Re: SIC my friend's work
Wow... I can appreciate the skill and patience involved, but what's the attraction of aged lume?
Re: SIC my friend's work
hahaa, best let the modder explain
Re: SIC my friend's work
Seen this and another 2 last week at k2....

Nonetheless, all are very well made and took lotsa painstainking efforts....

Though not many will appreciate it or like this route of modding.....
Re: SIC my friend's work
Hi guys!

The modded or vintaged watch is my creation.

I started out just buying n collecting seikos.. Then modding.. Then I felt something was missing.. I needed to feel the power of creation n that's when I started vintaging.

Maybe it's my age.. 40s.. That make vintage watches attractive to me. I feel that there is a certain character in the watch when its finely aged.

I went n do research in a lot of forums n learnt a lots of skills from the friendly guys there ;)

After that it's lots of long hours experimenting n buying parts.. I got as far as luming my watch!

Think there are a few bros also doing this here but it's not a hot thing.

After comparing my creations with the real deals at 2nd shops, I know I have succeeded!! Ha ha

you're wrong bro

there are bros here who might try u for luming, it's not easy to find people who does lume jobs locally anymore

anyway, it's good we have different specialists in this forum, from strap makers to modders & now, a bro who knows how to do a lume job.

it's getting better and better as days goes by :D
