Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork

Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
Not sure any of the bros here know of Any local shops in Singapore that can do servicing and repair of a vintage Omega F300 tuning fork? Also know to many as the "hummers" due to the low frequency humming sound it generates as the fork vibrates.

There are limited info in this watch locally and also based on the age of the watch it will be hard to get spares or even service. I'm doing more research before committing on a preowned which I like.

Anyone has info? Or owned one which can share your experience with me?

Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
Wah humming fork.... I doubt there's competent watchmakers that can handle that but since it's Omega, you can always go back to Omega and burn a hole in your pocket.. :)

Why not consider Bulova's pieces ?

Given a choice... I will take the omega one. Does Boluva pieces have spares and servicing available?
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
anyway Omega does not make own tuning fork movement and all are from bulova(they made the tuning fork design, movement, trend)

and there isnt anyone I know that will repair tuning fork. Even if so,probably the repair cost will set you back by a lot of $ which might be way higher than finding a used movement from a donor tunning fork watch.

Yah bro.. I thought of that before.. It will be hard to find anyone who can service it and also parts will be very hard to find, unless like what u mention- a donor watch
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
And with a donor watch, it's no longer the same.. so hehe.. if you are in for the originality and authenticity, then donor parts are are strict no no.
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
Thanks bro for all the advises. It's a hard decision whether to own it OR not.... but you know no venture no gain... Hahahahahah...
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
i have owned every kind of tuning fork there is other than the slava transistor

( 214, 218,single coil 219, the hybrid 224, esa 916 series ,omega 122/123 series)

locally, noone has the technical knowledge and parts to fix it , i usually send to get it fixed by my watchmaker overseas which will set u back in the 150- 200 usd range for a complete overhaul

once serviced, they are good to go for a LONG time. Probably best if u get one recently serviced so u dont go through the hassle any time in the next few years.

Well worth it imo, its something different , a great piece of history and the smooth sweeping is really sweet

for your first piece , maybe u want to look at the collectible models: omega megasonic , iwc edison, bulova spaceview, bulova deepsea, bulova astranaut mark II/IV or one of my personal fav the bulova woody
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
Bro fireal, I nearly committed a piece but unfortunately my hands legs not fast enough.. Didn't chop it straight away as too many uncertainties. It's really a unique piece.. The longer I look the more I liked it. It's a gem really.. And I liked the soft humming sound generated by the fork vibration.

Think the next round I bump into one good condition one.. Will chop it. I didn't see many people talking about it and assume it wasn't that popular.. The maintenance of the watch is What deters me most. With that assured, It may be a worthwhile collection (like what u said). A piece of history itself.
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
But what about Boluva? Accutron and the rest of their tuning fork models.. Are they as equally good and easy to maintain?
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
go ahead get accutron ... original ^^

Nice watch bro! I didn't managed to find anything similar. How old is this watch?
Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
In fact I hooted the Omega Electronic f300h Hz tuning fork this afternoon. It's a "refrigerator" face and has a silver dial. Liked the soft humming sound coming from the case back.. Yes if you concentrate, you can hear the soft humming. Bracelets might not be original for this model though but never mind, it's still a Omega. The second hands literally sweeps effortlessly across the dial... I loved it!

Let the pictures speaks for itself.

Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork

Re: Advise needed- omega f300 tuning fork
Dragonboat bro

This also taken using handphone! Same handphone. I realize that if I take out the Handphone cover, it can take clearer and more precise shots

roo7... Never try opening up.. Maybe u r right, at least can see the movement inside.
