Oris BC4 flight timer

Oris BC4 flight timer
Hi guys. Anybody has experience with Oris watch? I saw a Oris BC4 flight timer for sale in oversea, less than S$2k after sale and tax refund. The shape of the watch was unique but the quality I am not too sure cos the last piece in the shop was spoilt. So if anybody has anything to share about Oris watch, please share or rant here. Thanks!
Re: Oris BC4 flight timer

I THOUGHT Mrs.LUNARIN wrist sensitive to SS METAL??? She still can live with it for 7yrs! Whoa!

...I got her an Oris 5-6 yrs back & it has been her daily watch ever since.

Her skin is sensitive to s/s so she can't wear a bracelet watch & leather strap buckle area has to be anti-allergic type, means, the buckle area has an additional small leather patch which the buckle sits on so when she's wearing the watch, the strap buckle does not comes directly into contact with her skin,, if not, rashes will develop :|

Bro,

Is "storey" not "story"

Is amazing to drop 3 storeys and nothing happened.
Re: Oris BC4 flight timer
yeah, she was stepping into the lift, at the same time putting on the watch but so heng, the watch slipped out of her hands & so HENG, dropped in between the gap of the lift shaft where the door is and the whole watched freefall-ed 3 stories below.

She called me & told me what happened, I told her 'your watch sure gone-f**k liao'

in the end, she called the lift maintenence guy & paid $50 fee for the guy to go down to the bottom of the lift shaft to retrieve her watch.

Surprisingly, the watch was as it is, no dings/scratch to the crystal.

I can't believe it myself when I inspected the watch at night

@ Ed: I bought her an anti-allergey strap, there's an extra piece of leather covering the buckle

hers is just a normal 2824 leh, i think chrono movements are more senstitive so I can't guarantee if it really drop from 3 stories, lol

or maybe she is so lucky, her watch actually landed on the hard foam at the bottom of the lift shaft? i don't know man..

Oris, i used to love them.

I like their diver series.

Just tried dropping my G-shocks from 6storey high, not bad. As good as oris
Re: Oris BC4 flight timer
Wah, really tough Oris. :o Guess I'm just unlucky to handle a spoilt one. The movt is a modified ETA 2836, one of the quick set hour button is jammed such that even if u pull the crown and turn, the hour hand is stucked. Well, lucky that I save some $$$. :D
Re: Oris BC4 flight timer

Not sure about ORIS 3 handers. But TAG HEUER 3 handers confirm using SW200, and one of the user in HK had encountered one day +25sec problem liaoz...

But ORIS Chronos confirm now using SW500, same as IWC, if i not wrong Maurice Lacroix also...

Re: Oris BC4 flight timer
IWC and ORIS buy movement from Sellitas in recent years, mod to claim it's their own in-house.

If you see a price tag on such a watch too good to be true, then you know.

Looks at iwc chrono, 7750 base is 5-6k, their inhouse one all above 10k or so much more.

Re: Oris BC4 flight timer
They have more than 10 pieces of the model in other outlets and offer to bring one working piece into the store for me to look. However, having to leave the country next day, i declined their offer. So if fate permits & I'm there again in a few months time, will prepare the moolah & hoot it.
