Forgot office keys so had to meet colleagues at Shaw Tower to pick up a key.

Told myself do not go to Gnomon but where my colleagues were having lunch is just across from it.

Ended up hooted this :



Steinhart Nav B Chorono 44mm

Compared this to the 47mm DLC model, and chose this because the 47mm on 22mm lugs looks off balance to me.



Prebooked a Ocean Black Ceramic but I heard stocks will be in late-September 2012. Looks like my Steinhart buying frenzy going to start.





Update December 2012

Well a couple more months have passed since September 2012, the Steinhart bug has definitely got into me. Currently holding onto 7 Steinharts and one Squale. The Squale 1545 was a pleasant surprise thanks to Rogue_Hog and Anders. One for the factors which drew me to the brand Steinhart is the value for money factor. I remember purchasing a Tissot from a local dealer last year and paid 600+ for a VisoDate. It was well made, Swiss Movement, Sapphire Crystal and nice leather strap. However it sat small on my 7,5" wrist.

With the Steinharts, I get similar engines and although many of them are homages, they are pretty well made IMHO.

I believe your sales team as well as Mr.STEINHART’s personal email box should had in recent days, weeks as well as months received various complains in product qualities as well as order processing qualities, which are reflected in various discussion threads in various watch hobbyist forums. This is why I send to you this status update thru your general in-box today, rather than clogging Mr.Steinhart’s personal email.*

From my earlier message to Katharina, you may see that this Apollon Chrono is not my first order with Steinhart direct, although the previous divers watches were purchased thru your appointed agent in Singapore, Gnomon.

I know that it will sound very dis-respectful or offensive to your order processing team as they’re handling the overwhelming orders that are pouring in every day all over the world as your brand of products are gaining popularity every single day.

I could understand that such complains might not be much, considering the volume of watches that you produced(by appointing 3rd party makers) and dispatch every single work day.

However, sooner or later or now... you’ll be facing lots of rants and complains as the order processing qualities as well as your product qualities are falling. This you may refer to various response forums’ discussion threads that are popping up in numbers in every week. Personally, I had good impressions with your dive watches which I had previously purchase last year. I’m trying to give in a bit, considering that the volumes of watches turn out growing in bigger number this year. But I would really hate to see that your label/brand to fall from the good reputations you had achieved in the previous years.



Hopefully you could touch on the 2 issues mentioned above.

Nice piece, I can't remember if I handled this model before, but sinner bro has one and it's a very very nice piece. VFM compared to the IWC model.

Brudder sinner one is the bracelet variant one... the main watch body is same same @ 44mm + onion crown.

Now awaiting for the arrival of my Ocean Black GMT ceramic. Hope it gets here soon.



Once I got home I swapped out the Rios strap, kept the original Steinhart strap and used a simple vintage black leather strap. Now looks good. Will post pics tomorrow.

47mm casing with 22mm strap look weird? Initially i thought so... but in the end i get used to that after putting on the watch for a certain days.



Perhaps it's the pricing of the DLC version(comparing the SS version to DLC version @ Steinhart site, it's 10eu apart) @ Gnomon that had turn you off, or else the other possible reason i can think of, is the diamond shaped crown that's giving some kind of discomfort. Eventually it's the smoother SS crown that captures your heart.

I liked the onion crown. No discomfort for me as I wear my watch on my right wrist although I am right handed. Old habit.

They currently have a Ocean 1 Vintage Red sapphire in stock. Comes with a slight dome crystal. Also tempting.

Oh well.... Maybe hoot one used one if it comes online.



Btw, any bros here own a Steinhart Aviator Chrono? Any feedback for this model?

Well... if you guyz had keep track of the discussion threads in WUS Steinhart forum, it won't be hard for you to see that there are numerous rants on the quality of the recent shipments of watches. From the unbalance bezel inserts, to the dial as well as other stuffs. Most commonly, the complaints on shipping updates.

Personally i can bear with the waiting time... which others in WUS may not. But when my first direct purchase with them is the LSE Chrono, which come with the chrono hand off zero/center, in addition with the last order of the Apollon Chrono which doesn't comes in full packaged content... It shows that there are serious issues to deal with, not now but days ahead!

I both like and dislike the onion crown. It's a synch to pull out when time setting is required bigots literally a pain on the back of my hand as it is rather sharp (almost akin to a serrated blade). I wear my watch low on my wrist so the crown digs into my flesh.

For a peace of mind, I'd rather get from gnomon. The price difference between buying direct and Herron from anders is negligible. And at least resolution of issues is easier and faster. That's just my take. Just bought my 4th steiny from them today.

Just collected my Ocean One GMT ceramic yesterday and also pulled the trigger on the NavB UHr 47mm black. Think I need to move to an office further away from Beach Road.











Swopped the black strap for my vintage looking brown strap with pvd buckle.







This is getting poisonous.

Couldn't get stocks from agent locally, so I pulled the trigger online. Arrived with a couple of straps.



Last hoot for the year. NO MORE WATCHES!!

Year end winding down so got a little time to take proper pics finally and do it some justice.

I ordered a couple of weeks back. Came via Fedex on Monday. IIRC, it said will ship no earlier than November. Now I think its later.



Anyway, my Steinhart collection is complete. On to other brands....
