I am a Star Wars fan but I am not spending any more money on this. I am already stuck with cartons of vintage Star War toys that are very hard to re-sell even at giveaway prices.

Re: any fans of star wars?
I'm a star wars fan but so far didn't really have any toys or figurines . My favourite is still the walking "chicken walker" MACHINE and the ATAT. The bike for storm riders are also a nice piece of gadgets

Guess a lot of us were conned by the perceived collectibility and expected price increase that never really happened :(

I have a a number of star wars stuff stashed away as well. But I took out the vehicles as I just cannot stand it any more. Might as well use the, as display pieces. ;)

Now why did many of u think that the price will go up? i remember there was a period when there was a star wars wave and anything related flew off shelves and pre-orders, was it during the prequel trilogy time? Nearly busted $500 on a bust of the stormtrooper and the bike..

That's the whole idea right. Seiko probably want to go on that path, so they will have sell out models. So it's "rare" like any other LE models.

Guess it will work on certain brands only.

Re: any fans of star wars?
to me, a real LE means low serial count.

300 max or 500.

but it seems they're coming out with so many LEs recently

Why did many think the prices will go up? I am no expert in toys but I remember in the 90s star wars toys from the 80s were fetching a pretty penny. Not only toys but comics as well were experiencing an increased interest with 1st run mint issues going at high prices.

For me I bought the star wars stuff becos I liked them and finally had the cash (from teaching tuition and NS) to buy them. Of course if they were to appreciate in price so much the better. But too bad... :)

Yup it will be interesting to see which of the supposed LE models do end up being sought after.
Re: any fans of star wars?
These watches are using unpopular movements. They are unlikely to well.

Just saying.

Yup who knows. Perhaps Japan has a very big seiko / star wars fan base. It could be a total sellout.

It's like how do people back then know seiko sus series will be so popular today.

I think the Star Wars series is even rarer, probably 1 year production only.
