Are the limited edition Monsters from Thailand worth it?

I'd seen images of the LE watches coming out of Thailand and had observed that they sell at a premium. Was wondering if they were actually worth the price. Isn't the difference just in the colour? And only in the paint? I mean, there isn't even special materials. Any opinions on this?

I should provide a context:



I have a colleague who travels regularly to BKK and he had offered to pick up these watches for me if I needed him to. So now am rather tempted.

If you want to be different and have the extra $$$ to get the Thai Monsters, y not ? However, I think the newer 4r36 monsters are great !

Yeah, they are. Was eyeing the one with the graduated orange dial myself.

I think I jumped into the deep end of Seikoholism: Got my first one from Mustafa on impulse in the middle of July. My second was a month later. Yesterday I brought home three. My Minister for Home Affairs was not pleased... and quiet hints were given to "rein in" my new interest... For the immediate future, I'll just be surfing watch porn.

From a limited perspective, yes but from a financial perspective, prob not. Then again, value is determined by buyer and seller. So most important is that buyer is happy with the purchase regardless of price in hobbies.



Watches/stamps/coins/notes/sports/figurines of sorts are better than women, drinking, gambling, smoking etc... That's the perspective i share when talking to COs(or future ones). And no hobby is cheap! If cheap is what one looks for, better do nothing. :lol:



Depending one's decision based on another's(or many others) opinion is dangerous IMHO. Happy hunting and wear Your pieces in good health as they say. :D

if you are looking to get the L.E monster as a keeper and can accept the pricing,go get it.. but if you are unsure and might sell(wear and see first),then dont get it. Else get a 2nd hand piece.



*there are ppl who do collect Seiko monsters +L.E models but they belong to an extreme small group.

My opionion, the only limited edition Monster in my view, is the Yellow Monster, which is limited to 300pcs worldwide. Not the red or green monster etc.



Blue Monster is, in a way collectible besides the YM for these 2 were the 1 st few Gen released makes.



But do take note, Blue Monster is not really consider a 'limited edition' piece. There Is no 'Limited Edition' word stamped on the dial and no serialised numbers on the caseback. Blue Monsters were released in small quantities per year but had since stopped production.







If you asked me to choose a 'LE' monster to collect now, i will still go for a Blue Monster, only a Blue Monster :mrgreen:
