Seiko Chronograph SND221P1

I am a young fresh graduate from school, looking to buy my first dress watch. After heading to one of the stores near my neighborhood, i spotted this watch Seiko Chronograph SND221P1 which catches my eye. The auntie quoted me $289, as retail price, and $250 after discount. Saw a similar design, but the auntie told me its different.



Anyone could advise on the pricing, history e.g. year of the model of this watch? and where i can find our more information about this?



i tried finding on skywatches and stuff, but to no avail.

There's nothing spectacular regarding this watch or the movement. The styling is more to the military watch. And the automatic 3 hander variant, can be found on the military field watch SNZG1x.

If you find that the price quoted is too high for you, you can always pop to Mustafa center where their parallel import model may fall below 250, however, Mustafa parallel imported watches comes with a catch, that's without warranty, hence, the low price.

The watch is available on eBay for ~S$140++. As lunarin suggested, check out Twinkle or King Wah / ACube Timeless to see if they can offer a better price. You would usually see a discount of at minimum 20% (and up) for any Seiko's except special versions.

Similar design, but slightly more expensive as i saw over at the similar shop today. Probably would head over to KW or any suggested retailers this weekend or so. However, could you guys give some comments on which i should get? From what i see from the specs, this SNDB11 have lumibrite hands, which is a little superior compared to the luminous hands of snd22. its about $50 price difference.

actually the luminous hand is not that accurate is suppose. saw the sndb11 over at skywatches.sg selling at $133, excluding postage etc. Wondering if i am able to get the exact same price when i head down to their store to see the exact condition of the piece. I read about parallel imports and genuine pieces. Any guys have experience with them, and what are your opinions on skywatches? are they parallel imports, or ?

saw the sndb11, a slightly similar model on the website for $170.

I've never ordered from their site, though I have previously gone to their shop. Surprisingly was initially quoted higher price than on their site... Bargained down to roughly the Internet price, then tacked on the 7% tax.



All their watches are grey market, if I'm not mistaken, and you will not get TS warranty. Still, they do saythey will take care of any issues within 1 year of sale. Try Twinkle on the next floor down, I believe those are TS warranties?



With regards to the lume, I would expect it to both be the same. Lumibrite is the trade name Seiko uses.
