As above, i cant afford GS, not even a brand new MM. At most hopeful i can afford a flipped MM. Is the MM the best out there for seiko less the GS?
U're not alone, I too cannot afford a GS.....
I assume you are referring to diver..... sort of yes for MM300 with a 8L35 movt which is a unadjusted GS movt! ;)

I agree with watchlooker, if you are referring to divers, the MM is the closest with respect to movt and finishing.
If you are considering others than the Ananta series have high standards of finishing close to GS.

Thanks to everyone for your input. :) What do you guys think of wearing a Diver for formal work functions. Was thinking of getting one for everyday and formal events during overseas work assignments. Cannot lose face plus got image issue. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
Saw on SWX got someone selling the piece at 2.6k. Worth it?

As a die-hard seiko diver fan.... I will say MM300 is worth the $$$..... at 2.6K good if brand new..... ;) U'll not loss face with this watch.... quality is on par with rolex sub though! :lol: :lol:

Hmm, divers like rolex sub and omega seamster are worn with formal wear all the time so it's ok. As long as u like the watch just rock it the way you like. The marine master is IMHO a respectable piece for formal events, heck it's great for all events like the rolex sub. Nowadays there isn't really a strict rule that it must be a dress watch for formal. Fashion has allowed sporty divers to make it's presence too. My $0.02 worth. :)
Maybe other bros feel differently?

bro samloi,indeed the MM300 is a cut above most Seikos. but do bear in mind that only like-minded pple like yourself, myself and the bro here will know and can appreciate.
whether or not someone will remark that your MM is a fine piece of watchmaking feat left to be subjective.
as a MM owner, i want to share that the MM is a thick watch and may have problems sliding comfortably in and out of long sleeve shirt cuffs. if u force her in, your shirt cuff may look a bit puffy :)
if you intend to tailor ur shirts (i can recommend you a tailor too), what i did was to ask the tailor to make the watch wearing cuff slightly slightly bigger to accomodate big thick watches.
other than these little things, the MM is a good choice.

No need for tailor made one lah.... simply wear a short sleeve shirt can liaoz.... this is what I do! ;)
