By the way, does Andy offer 40% discount on his Seiko watches now? :-)
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Ah, I just realise the Where To Buy Seiko Pedia is outdated too... :)
Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
40% off??? Does that mean that acube timeless might be the best place to get skx013 with agent warranty? Let's say 380 after 40% it would be 228!!!!!

The person on the phone is named Andy( I asked because I would like to address him when I reach the shop).

Yup I did ask but that's what he said, we don't have stock for a long time... I ask when the stock might come in, he said he don't know.

Suggest don't waste time at this shop. Maybe before some bros have good experience but have personally not had good experience but wasted time & money to go down numerous times (or as above) and nothing but frustration. Saying that ones price is best is not everything especially the frustration of any bro here. ;)
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
The only way to buy at KW or the current set up....

buy only what you can see in the shop.......

40% is 1 of the highest ard.......

dun rely on words like, stock coming, in a few days time.... its here, come down now.....

in short, when i'm in the area, i pop by have a look.

end of story......
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Yes agree just buy what u see and like there. Every time I ask him whether he have another model I want, he always tell me it will be there in a few days or weeks. Then I asked to reserve he will tell me he only do reservation for regular customers who always buy a lot from him. I wonder does he really have a pool of regular customers or he just talking cock.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Sales talk....
Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
I think he does have regulars. When I was there yesterday, there was a lady that bought quite a few pieces from him. Overheard the total bill amounted to just over sgd2000. He claimed that she makes monthly purchases from him.

Was there again earlier this evening and I think he did hold a piece fir a customer who cane in to get the watch while I was still there.

I find his service not bad actually.
Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Andy has pulled that stunt on me several times also. Back during King Wah days. It was quite frustrating because I don't work in town and parking there isn't easy also.
Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
I found his service improving, especially towards the closure of KW.

The advice to just see and buy whatever stocks we see in the shop is best.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Hi guys, will be heading down on Sunday. Is Peninsula Shopping centre the one next to Funan or is it the one where there are many Thai shops?
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?

Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?

Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Anyone been to Acube timeless aka KingWah lately?

Just went today.....

Like ending business (Though no signage) the amount of watches inside kinda pathetic.... Lesser than 30 types of Seiko(Autos, Quartz, Men's, Ladies)...

Same for the other brands...
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?

Good attitude in telling u stocks that never come, ever come, ever ordered more like the case.

His usual stun, ordered, come take a look, physically,no stock, just sold, coming soon .

This has been said so many times, only 1St time heard, from you,his attitude good lo.

If not for his std,max discount upon cash payment, his shop would have wound up faster.

Only 1 rule apply in his shop, buy what you see physically, Dun buy his shit,it will ever come soon. Maybe common models, but knowing him, everything u ask him aso will say coming!

Agree on this. His standard reply is will arrive in about 2 weeks blah blah blah. I never been to Acube but ever since the KW experiences, no way am i going back.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Hard sell a lot too if you don't know what to buy.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Bought one from him never went back again. Full of bull.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
So far so good for me.... Bought about four watches from him

Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Andy's got good reputation with Thai International Airways. He would have groups of (very pretty and real) stewardess and do bulk purchases...and yeap, 40% discount off retail.

How do I know? Lol.

Ps: He used to have some real solid back catalogue Fortis going for less than 1k. But all sold out, according to him.

Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Seems like I am not the only person who wasted my time going to his store for 3times.

I tried to buy a ssc021 solar seiko from Andy last month. He promise that it would arrive in a weeks time and so in exactly a weeks time I made my way to his store to hear his excuses about delayed shipping from thong sia.

tired to put a deposit to reserve it but he die die also dont want..

Told me another 3days.. but becuase of his selling price of $280 I still made my way down.

The most infuriating thing was when I arrived, he told me he sold it off.

That was the last time I want to visit his store.

In the end I bought the ssc021 from the store behind at $260 after some bargaining with the boss.

Funny how somethings are just meant to be? Happy you bought the Solar at a more attractive price. :)

As for Andy, an intelligent assumption would suggest that the watch supply didn't even reach its shop at all. As a business owner, I'd say its "sold out" to myself "look better".

But hey, chill out mate, no skin off your back right? If Don't like him, simply just don't go back. Besides, you already got a fair deal for your solar. :)
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Bought solar seiko from K2, better service too
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Woah, didn't know there so much hatred towards Andy!

I've bought several from him already, and it has always been pleasant.

Thought I'd put in a good word for him :-)
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
all i know is that 40% on the watch is actually tag with higher price and after less end up not as good price as in bencoolen, yes there are but mostly are older model ...
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Ok la.

Pple doing business. Have to give it to them. At least they have a shop front.

You havent seen pple sell and buy back the same watch from u can make you lose few thousand yet. That is of course when I m stupid then.

May the Force be with you
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Do their watches come with Thiong Sia warranty? Noticed they are not one of the authorised sellers on TS's website.

i think it is considered as parallel import watches.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Does any1 have any idea how come Andy's shop name is changed from King Wah to acube?

King Wah was such a long time brand according to my dad which he already bought from during his younger days.

If he moved location at least maintain the name so we can still identify him.

Anyway just dropped by his shop to look see again, but seems like he is more interested in branded brand watches now, with his Ferrari and Versus watches. Not much seikos compared to before.

Asked him if I could order a Sbdc007 , but was told it was sold off just ytd.

Anyway will drop by and take my chances to shop for jdm seikos.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
I considered myself a regular customer of Acube until recently. I too was attracted by Andy's competitive pricing and his friendliness. I used to visit his shop very regularly, and witnessed to myself that lots of customers came over to buy G-Shocks from him, and were happy with his prices. I visited his shop regularly hoping to be able to be the first to buy popular Seiko models like MM300, or Sumo, when the stock comes , before they got snatched away, as I always overheard customers coming in to enquire about these models and his usual response was "coming soon"," in a few days' time", "probably next week"... Sometimes he would take up his phone (apparently to call Thong Sia) to enquire about stock arrivals and to confirm order of a few pieces . As such, I had been waiting for my MM300 for more than 3 months. In the meantime, when I was in his shop, I would end up buying other Seiko models, in fact quite a number in a span of a couple of months. I would later regret buying some of them. Andy is a good salesman, without doubt. I bought a Monster from another shop, as I never see Acube displaying the model during my frequent visits there. When he saw me with the Sumo, he told me that his shop actually just sold a couple of pieces a few days ago, and told me his selling price, which I remembered was much lower than my cost. I also showed him my Shogun which I bought online from Chino Watch, he also told me he would be having the stock, and his selling price again was very attractive. A few months ago, Andy told me his price for MM300 was 2.2K , then became 2.3K and now 2.5K due to higher price from Thong Sia (of course if it ever comes). He could not quote me a price for Sumo as he claimed final price from Thong Sia not firm yet. I had finally given up, and had purchased my MM300 and Sumo online from Higuchi-Inc.
Re: Where is King Wah at Peninsula Plaza now?
Not to spoil your mood but happy waiting. Only buy watch you see displayed in his shop.
