Remove corrosion from stainless steel watch

Remove corrosion from stainless steel watch
Dear bros

I have an old Boctok Komandirskie russian watch at since 1990s. It was bought at a make shift shop when I first collected my first pay. Recently, I found at one of my drawers and the watch case become rusty. Because of my itchy hand, I used a very fine file to file away the rust. It did not turn out well but leave a golden bronze layer on the casing. This watch is not expensive but it meant alot to me.

Any expert advise to remove the corrosion??

Appreciate your help. Ps : the bottom left hand corner is the corrosion.

Thanks Zeh Zeh...

But it is my fault for "rubbling the gold out of no where..." any way to restore??
Re: Remove corrosion from stainless steel watch
1. send for chrome replating

2. diy , strip all plating from the exposed metal , base coat , chrome spray paint , recoat , then acrylic lacquer

either way its too much trouble / cost , and destroys the character of the vintage
Re: Remove corrosion from stainless steel watch
Kommandirskie is chromed, only amphibians has SS case but bezel are still chromed. Leave it as it is ba. Re plating probably cost more than your watch.

wouldnt replating whole watch again looks uneven on whole watch? replating means telling your watch to go do plastic surgery...tats sad for the watch ley.....haha
