[Advice pls]- Does creating a FedEx/DHL/UPS acct helps...?
Okay guyz...

Online purchase is perhaps still a little new to me. Thanks to all advice that pours in, I had a rough understanding on how does the paypal thingy works.

Now onto the next one... It's my first time ordering straight from Steinhart DE. Even though i had some experience in logistical co-ordination with all 3 express freight service mentioned in the thread title, but those are mostly limited to a warehouse operation environment only.

Is it compulsory or have advantage on opening an account with them that points all deliveries to my home address?

How possible if i can save by opening an account?

Looking forward to all inputs, dudes... and thx...

You don't need any special account ba... as the seller will just ship to your address regardless you have an account or not...
Re: [Advice pls]- Does creating a FedEx/DHL/UPS acct helps..
it helps only if you are the seller/business owner that frequently uses their shipping service... there are shop owners locally that uses fedex ,the courier will just come to the shop to collect the parcels and all postages billed to account but can save more money than regular one time sender.

Just sharing with all here what I myself have experienced

1) Fedex - Insure only up to USD$1K for watches so anything above that, its personal bank account insurance!

2) DHL - WE NO CAN DO is the motto. They said they do not ship watches.

3) UPS - I do not know but I read in the US that some customers have ever lost watches(stolen by UPS delivery) I cannot confirm this but read it on forums.

I really have no idea how its done. EMS seems to be the best way though slowest i think. Anyone else?

I guess this is why DHL only handles ground delivery in DE and then all 3 UHR watches i ordered are delivered thru SPEEDPOST...
Re: [Advice pls]- Does creating a FedEx/DHL/UPS acct helps..
Speedpost is EMS, just read the policies, most of them don't cover jewellery and watches fall into that

You do not need an on-going account with any of the courier companies if this is just a one-off shipment.

However, to cut cost, it might help that you use your company's existing account with one of them to ship if it's convenient cos your company probably has an on-going discount ( which ranges from 30%+ - 65% off the published rates.

I am pretty certain ups ships watches cos richemont is their customer.
