Hi, I was curious as I m in the midst of getting a watch from overseas.



I m contemplating of paying extra for fedex. Will I Kenna GST still if the amt is more than Sing$400?



Anyone has any idea?

I personally find fedex and ups only abt 1 (maybe 2 ) days faster than usps (ems/speedpost).

By FEDEX or DHL sure kanna GST.

But if there's another option... such as registered mail... sometime depend on your luck, you might not get charged.

Ivan, also note the risk involved(if lost parcel) if you agree/sender do underdeclare the value of item when using registered mail esp if its an expensive and rare item.

But prepare to pay GST.



Example, if you use SingPost registered mail, it's insured up to $80 niah and don't cover jewelry and watches one.



Can't run away from GST one. Unless custom never check, so far my registered mails no GST, ems yes and no, FedEx sure kana GST plus they charge admin fee coz they pay for you first.

Lost a speedy due to under declared. So, I will never never never ask seller to under declared Liao.
