so...internet is really not a place to hang out when you are too free.



was casually surfing & browsing on the net when I came across one Citizen semi perpetual moonphase model.



'Hmm, not bad looking..'



This particular model was around 3yrs old, when I first saw this model, I was drawn to the copperish salmon dial & the exposed subdial. A bit too cluttered but it just appeals to me but I just let it slide...and so, 3 yrs ltr, I am poisoned by it again when I saw the pics. I knew it was definitely an impulse but iya...a WIS is afterall...a WIS ;)



it was this model: BU0011-63Z





and 2 days ago, i was searching around for the best deal on the net, it seeemed S$350 was the best I could find. Did a bit of deeper research & found out this series is not a full perpetual calender model but a semi perpetual instead, means we got to set the date every leap year, hey, no problem for me..If this watch will still be around with me in 4 years time :lol:



Was about to pulled the trigger when I found another model but different design of the same BU00 series.



A BU0003-02P.



'Hmmm, the dial looks more clean & the layout is definitely nicer than BU0011 and it looked like an expensive watch from far + it's a rose gold case!'



I guessed my answer was clear on which to get. Googled around for more pics & reviews of this watch.



Checked prices on the net & it seemed that this model was not really easy to find FS, shucks....the more I see those pics on the net, the more I am poisoned :|



Called up twinkle & to my surprise, Jennifer has stock for this model but only 1 piece.



*please dun ask me how much I paid for it, lol. Tbh, I wun spend such $$ on a Eco Drive but bopian, I'm really taking a deep liking to this model & this piece was an Agent set somemore :| SIGHHHHH



went down Twinkle yesterday after work, was hoping the real watch look worse than on pic but sigh(again), the actual watch looked so classy with the rose gold case with pinkish tinge...Jenn took it out from the display showcase & passed it to me. I took it & sat on the stool.....& kept looking & trying it on my wrist....for near 30-35mins...LOL...haiyo...



kept walking around the shop to see if there are any other watch which I ould get for less than the amount of of Citizen but...none...bopian, lppl, went back to sit on the stool...for another 15mins....



Then said 'Ok, pack it up...' :(



And so, my 2nd Moon...



Citizen BU0003-02P Semi perpetual Moonphase



I like how i can read all the details I want from a glance- Day/Date/Month but there is a serious design flaw imo, will let you guys know ltr on





45mm inclusive of crown. I really like the moonphase subdial. It's very clean & minimal.









Overall, a very nice dressy piece but I find the strap too thin for my liking, will try other straps.



Ok, the biggest thing that irks me was reading the Date, between 14th-16th. As you can see from the pics above, the Dauphine hands tip, no matter which position they are at, will cover the 14th-16th spot on the Date sub-dial :(



other than this date reading flaw. I'm overall quite pleased with this purchase.

Very classy piece indeed. If it's any consolation I think u made a good choice over the first one. Switch to a more supple strap and it should look very expensive. :lol:



Does it wear big? How big is it w/o crown?

yup, gonna get a strap definitely, prob a Hirsch if possible



wear nice on my 6" wrist :mrgreen:





doesn't have a calliper to measure but from a ruler, it's roughly about 41mm-42mm excluding crown

i agree, a dark choc brown is the perfect match for a RG case but I will still hunt for a suitable black strap, brown is still not my taste ;)

I like date pointers, like found in this piece. Instead of showing just a number, a date pointer gives an immediate sense of how much into a month we are, and how much left of the month we have.

yes, I do. It shows the flow of time better than a date window... of course the caveat is the watch has to be dressy, otherwise tak gam.

as what's mentioned by devil00 the eco-drive storage tank is bigger and can last longer than seiko solar but give seiko some times and i think they can improve as this is the first time they are coming out with a solar technology as eco-drive had been around for sometimes already so their durability are more reliable...

Yup saw it when I was in Taiwan last Dec..

The poster outside the shop drew my attention so go in see....

The citizen is a classy looking piece. Congrats on the buy lunarin! Must say that they do have these more refined pieces. Though the date think is a very minor bother but only at certain times right?



The satellite wave is an awesome watch. Though as mentioned in other forums, unfortunately no lume and not sure if one guy from south Africa was successful at getting citizen in SA to paint the lume for him. Singapore had 20 pcs from what I know. (MBS Citizen showroom when launched but all were reserved) ;)

The 'BU' series moonphase are indeed lookers, I might plan to get the whole series :lol: but slowly la :lol:



have not seen the Satelite Wave in real, I just know its a friggin beast in size :mrgreen:

v nice piece. didnt realise they had more reasonable moon phase complications in that price range... always thought that was in their campo range.
