WUS Chinese watch project~

It has been a long wait since last year Oct till now..

Nonetheless, the wait's well worth it :mrgreen:



relaxing at home earlier on in evening when surpsingly singpost uncle came to visit me with a package:



nice, secure package with brown paper and tons of scotch tape!

leather box was nothing to shout about, but nevertheless the quality was fine given the price we paid!



pictures don't really do justice to the watch's dial, was just what I like! was afraid earlier on from seeing other pictures that the dial was not to my liking...



customised buckle and leather strap with WUS logos.. albeit i would like to change to new strap...

Wasn't there's an option for those who ordered, to have some texts engraved around the back cover ring? Yours seems to be veri clean ley...

yea, 150 was the chosen number. The people who registered interest before kicking off were counted, and they settled on that. There was actually a bit more interest (though I don't think too much), but pre-registration suggested 150 was a good number. No other significance.

yea, but guessed the total response swee swee hit 150 (some ordered two or more) pieces before the deadline..

the 月相 engraving is standard, together with the serial number..

well i couldn't wait and opted for EMS, thinking it may reach me by 30 Apr just in time for my wifey's anniversary present :x



but still hats off to Thomas over there, practically one-man show.. but could do better with some regular updates though, won't take him too much time i guessed.. i don't mind the wait, but waiting w/o any updates is agonizing :geek:

I experienced that when i was in a trading company. Initially, they offered a package of 6 items to a set of product, then when the date line of shipping off is close, they smoke us by telling stories that they cannot get all the components for the whole set, still demand a full price...

that i can't deny, haha cz got similiar experiences in my job too :)



but that aside, overall i thought it was good value at US$139 for the whole thing, though excluding EMS charges :(

To be fair, they gave everyone the option to not have the personal engraving (which I was anyway going for)... no one was locked into it after they'd stated that it'd be that extra bit more. And at $9, it wasn't a massive jump in price.



I don't think the shipping charges were ever discussed, through they did come as a bit of a shock; most if not all took it for granted it would be part of the watch's price. Either viewpoint is fair, but in the end the seller already had the deposit, so it was us buyers who were more affected... Then again, I can definitely see this watch being offered easily at cost on WUS (including extra S&H) if not for more. It's come out rather nice, and it looks like people are still interested.



Problem is, though, I think Thomas in HK is either a one-man show, or he's working for a company not directly related with Seagull. I think getting all 150 together took him a bit longer than he expected, without the same backing as he was used to.

I don't actually quite blame Thomas lah... after all, he's just another HongKong middle man that kanna kiap between maker @ china side, and buyers from a forum.

If Thomas still works with Seagull HK, i could imagine what kind of screw he will kanna everyday when he tries to deliver his sales service to all his customer. The Ah Tiongs @ Seagull just couldn't stand to bear with his performance in sales and service achievement that's all...
