[Shop Talk]- Russian Makes- Various Russian Watch sites...
Have been looking at different site recently, by following website suggestions given by brudder Roo in this thread...

http://forums.seikoclubsg.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2543"http://russian-watches.info" rel="noopener noreferrer">http://russian-watches.info that also sells major big names such as Vostok, Poljot, Raketa as well as Sturmanskie.

As for other makes which i have searched so far, Buran appears to have one only, while no sight of Maktime, which is the same i had encountered with http://m-watches.com. This particular site doesn't seems to have any watches with moonphase.

I have looked thru the price listed in this website... it seems that all the watch prices are charged without VAT. I wonder why is it so... especially when these watches are exported out from FINLAND.

Have any brudders here have made purchase transactions with this site before? Especially when they claimed that,

...We are eBay Top-rated Seller and Gold Power Seller. That means that we consistently receive highest buyer`s ratings, ship items quickly, have earned a track record of excellent service on eBay...

Here is a whole list of price on their watches and products...

Re: [Shop Talk]- Russian Makes- Various Russian Watch sites.
Actually I don't like most of the modern Russian watch designs.. maybe I'm just biased because I'm more inclined to the vintages.

I still love the classics.

Personally i find that the Russian designs of course cannot be compared to the SWISS or GERMAN counterparts for mostly being elegant and attractive in looks. What's on the watch dial often gives an impression of where the watch may be from. Remember the past when some china pieces have those red capped revolution army character printed on the dial? As well as those with the communist leader MAO's photo printed as well? One look you know it's from Tiong land right? However, nowadays, china watches mostly comes with dial designs that most of us would mistakenly identify as SWISS/Jap piece from far, and these are mostly have the names printed in HanYu PinYin without chinese characters(except for shanghai watches)...

Back to the Russians... All i know in the past, the Russian government put their focus on building Military power that can compete with the Americans. Hence i wouldn't surprise to see that the Russian dials will have images of tanks, artillery or planes or parachutes printed on their dials. Of course, with other european market influence, some of the dials are well designed without all those Military images.

It's all about the identity... so it's all on the personal preference of the collectors.

Re: [Shop Talk]- Russian Makes- Various Russian Watch sites.
I also have a soft spot for Russians bros.. I have several Russian watches from vintages to newer models. Maybe afterwards I can try to post some pics... Russians are really durable watches. I have a few Komandarskis with 3AKA3 military models to domestic types which are still keeping good time. I also loved My buran and Vostok Europe Anchar big oversized dial.

I had a lady friend who has many Russian watches... From 32mm sized Boctok to Poljot with 3312 movements....

The shop at Sunshine Plaza ( think call ATS?) has quite a big collection but you really have to be very selective in getting the ones you like. Most Russian boctok sold there are at an average price of $75. manual mechanical winding types.

Re: [Shop Talk]- Russian Makes- Various Russian Watch sites.

Re: [Shop Talk]- Russian Makes- Various Russian Watch sites.
oooh, I also have a soft spot for Russian watches too! Trappled upon Red Army Watches at Millenia walk many years ago and got hooked. Bought my 1st Poljot International there and then. And few years later, a Vostok for the daily wear :D Any bros got recommendation for more Poljot??
Re: [Shop Talk]- Russian Makes- Various Russian Watch sites.
How about this one? Makes a very good dress watch IMO.

Poljot Baikal Chrono :D There's the moonphase version also, with a slightly golden-ish dial.

Love the detail on the dial surface, kinda like "woven". But what doesn't sit well with me is the lume on the hands. I just don't think that a dress watch should have lumed hands. Secondly, even if want to lume, don't lume so half f**k ma... a bit wasted, but other than this small issue, i actually think the overall looks good :D
