[Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twice?
Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
Then again, last I talked to Irene about local repairs, she did mention their watch repair shops (shop?) they use here are not the quickest. Perhaps there's just that much of a backlog, and it's out of Big Time's hands now?
While the poster's experience has been a bad one, Ithink it's a bit hasty to make a judgement on Big Time just for that. I've bought 5 watches from them, had two repaired, and nothing has tarnished those deals. Hopefully the company is able to get the problem ironed out.
Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
having said that.. it was quite some time ago, and i've heard that are quite some staff turnover at their end. so probably its just a new staff mistake.
have also heard the experience from cooliend with his orient 300 and i thought their service is rather okay.
Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
from the way he wrote.
if he is, why does he even wana bash Big Time on an international forum??
I hope I'm wrong though

The moment i saw the thread... first thing that came into my mind...
"Chut Si Mi Dai Chi?"
30mins later, then i remember that Mr.Goh was also fallen into the "some kind" of same scenario when some unknown "noobs" walk off with pissed temper, when 老吴 was too busy serving other folks or concentrating deeply in servicing other watches, neglected the "noobs".
How BigTime had cock up... other izzit the TS "cook-up" such incident... really hard to determine.
How many ppl really working in BT is unknown to all(or perhaps nobody want to know...), or how every individual's jobs are allocated... that ended up with such rant... hard to tell...
Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
since generally BT have good reputation, and don't think such small post will affect them in such ways.
unless you go google some shop names and you will see many unpleasant post about them...
for example some other shop located at chinatown... *ahem*
Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
When I contacted Orient Japan about some hands problem, Orient Japan shipped the hands to me through Mr Leslie who did not charge me anything to pass me the hands for one of my orient watch. Mr Leslie even offer to help me get the original bracelet from Orient for that watch. I did not get that watch from them but they went to the effort to help me get the items. Seriously, if it comes to service, BIG TIME definitely an A+++++++.

$200 for the shipping cost.
No charges for the servicing.
Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
Yikes!! $200? :o Not bought from them?Anyway, it's good that BT looks to be taking care of this guy. It's most apparent that BT's reputation is very good; hopefully they bring this guy around all the way.

Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
From my own personal experience, Big Time is very helpful and passionate about the watches that they sell. My OS 300 diver had an issue with the date change (arrived used from US seller in such condition). Big Time was kind enough to repair the problem with no charge even though i did not buy the watch from them.
Please dont hesitate to buy from them. :)
Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
Hopefully fellow brudderz here don't mistaken me as taking chance to "kachau" BT by putting that link, and the use of "debatable" subject title.
I had so far visited BT once before, and it was there i met brudder Yeoman for the first time, when he pop the question asking about the "World Timer" on my wrist. I would wanted to go there again, hoping that can meet other SC65 brudderz there as well.(My initial target was to see the MIDO range there... surprisingly ended with a "big and fit" catch!)
Price wise, so far i do not have any purchase transaction with 'em yet... no idea whether their price is as competitive as Twinkle, WINs, K2 as well as Skywatches or not... but certainly, when there's a piece in their showcase that catch my eyes... i might buy a piece from there as well...

Re: [Jin Ehh Boh?!!]- Buying Orient nowadays must think twic
I think the ladies there manage very well the delicate task of being very attentive and proper while still being warm, down-to-earth and welcoming.
I went there over lunch to take a look at MM and tunas, and it was plenty obvious that there wasn't going to be a purchase that day, but I was given a seat, a cup of coffee and all the time I needed to handle the watches.
So even though the price of the watches are slightly higher than what you get online, if I'm ever buying new, this is one B&M shop that I will support over any internet dealer.

I haven't become a paying customer yet, but the impression I got from visiting Big Time at Sims was a very good one.
