Seiko Professional Diver 7c43-7010

some information of the 7C43 pro divers:

The 7C43 (7 jewels) was released in 1986 according to Tokunaga's Watch Museum: Tokunaga's Watch Museum.



the 7C43 professional diver features:

- a screw down crystal retaining ring like the other professional seiko divers (ie. Tunas)

- an antimagnetic movement shield

- 'cooler' looking white framed hour and minute hands ;)



correct me if i am wrong: 7C43 are a high torque quartz movement (like the 7c46 in tunas) made especially for its professional divers. High Torque means it can take some serious knocking around and not be affected too much in its timekeeping.



there have been many discussion and comparison with between the 7548 and 7c43 movement, because of the same/similar slim style diver case which both uses and the similarities with the dials and bezel.



the 7548 (5 jewels) was manufactured between 1979 till 1985 (around there), and it is based on the commonly used and tested 6309 automatic movement. the 6309 at that time is considered to be like the 7s26 nowadays.

hence many parts are interchangeable between the 7548 and the 6309.



but for those aesthetically inclined... the white framed hands on the 7c43 200m divers just looks cooler ;)
