Looking for advice for ''dead'' G-Shock Mudman

Looking for advice for ''dead'' G-Shock Mudman
my about 3yr-old mudman had its strap screw broken and stuck in the groove... have no idea how to get it out.

headed down to the casio service centre, they said the only way is to replace the back bezel (which has the stuck screw) and that would cost $54!



so now im like in a dilemma, i use this watch regularly for my sport + runs.. have a few options:



1) sell this ''dead'' mudman(but who would want), buy a new g-rescue/gulfman @ around $90-$99.

2) buy a $13 casio classic watch and use it instead

3) try to pry out the stuck screw & purchase new ones (US$2.50 each, w/o shipping) to replace

4) borrow a valid casio warranty from anyone who has it, bring the watch to service... (does it work?)



what would you do if you were me (still a student)...? :(

Get a new black 5600 frm bencoolen or mustafa ard $60-$80 n it wil also accompany u while u serve NS...:)

hahaha!!! thanks for the suggestion! and WHOOPS!!!! 'student' make me sound SOO young! but i've finished NS a few years ago liao :oops: :oops:



1) is very tempting but $__$ 不舍得.. :cry:

im thinking more in the line of number 4)... have to check with my friend to see if he has valid warranty for casio so i can bring it to smoke(hopefully) the service centre.. :(

Buy a new one and use the warranty card to service your faulty one. :mrgreen:

I think the suggestion of getting a new G-shock is a much better idea.



If you do not need shock resistant, can go bencoolen and take a look. Got those Casio Evergreens going for 30+ with full alarm, stopwatch and timer function. Come in those cheaper metal bracelet as well. I got one of those for rough work, cheap and good.

Its about needs and wants ba.....of cos depend on how deep your pocket is...



Get a cheap casio from mustafa for $13..... should be able to last u for a few years... vfm

If pocket deep enough, get a mudman from bencoolen

wa sian, orange gulfy so cheap now new? thinking of flipping mine



have to see you prefer mudman or gulfman's fit on the wrist and functions.. personally i don't like gulfman's stopwatch display



the $54 is bezel only or together with straps? unless got sentimental value, will just hoot another piece try something different



also can also skip a G get those $13 that fulfills your needs then wait for G-Shiok 30th anniversary release. i like those $13 for running, feels like not wearing watch at all

i've a 1997 codename which obviously needs:

battery replacement

strap replacement (it originally came with nylon fabric strap, but i think i want to get a rubber one...)

gasket replacements



it may need a bezel replacement anytime.. maybe will kenna resin rot...

so the qn is, sentimental values aside, is it worthwhile to get the codename fixed??

Mud resist codename? If so, the parts are quite hard to come by.

I have a brand new Timex Ironman, you can have it for $50 if it suits your purposes.

Will go bencoolen to see how much a new one cost, seems like only the module and backplate can be savaged from my gshock...

Lol it's not worth much now... So I rethinking of whether to restore it or use it as paperweight.
