Russian space watch

We know the Americans rely on omega's speedy when it comes to outer space traveling.. Seiko has their pouges, a rolex GMT 1675, and a Waltham went to the space too..



A Russian timepiece is long overdue in my collection, I figured what better way to start than a Russian chrono that went to space ? Problem is I know nothing about Russian timepieces except for the name of the brand Poljot..



Any bros car to shed some light on this ?

Ok, the first watch worn to outer space is a First Moscow Watch Factory Sturmanskie, as we know there was a space race between US and USSR.





Not the nicest dial, there are better samples out there, you can google for it, but take note there are a lot of fake dials.



Worn by Juri Gagarin in 1961.



There are other Russians watches that went to space as well.



The Poljot Strela based on Poljot 3017 or Venus 150, column wheel chronograph









Vostok Amphibian





Another Sturmaskie, the 3017 caliber was replaced by the Poljot 3133 or Valjoux 7733/7734

Bro, I went to the exact link you posted here, pretty confusing stuff when it comes to Russian space watches huh ? They even worn a non-chrono, simple 3 hands watch to space, that's communism for you :D



They also don't seem to have a strict rules regarding which specific watch the astronauts decided to take with them.. I like the Poljot strapped on Komarov's wrist found at the above link, very Russian :)



Oh btw bro, the Okeah don't look so bad now, is it available at wisma atria ?

Yup, from what I read, they weren't like NASA where they restrict what watches to be worn, so they just wear whatever watches they own. Even a diver, Vostok Amphibian went to space ;)



As for that watch on Komarov, it's the Poljot Strela, there's a few variations of the dial, I posted 2 of them, they are 1 of the earlier dials dating early 1960s.



The one on his wrist is a later dial, it was also exported and rebranded as Sekonda.



For the modern pieces, there's definitely re-issues but with the Poljot 3133 movement.

The strumanskie is not really my cuppa tea because of the Arabic dial..



The strella is avail. before in red army Jakarta, loving the broken white dial but the hands ruin it for me.. I prefer the hands like those worn by Komarov, the design just screams out Russian :D



As for the Okeah, I remembered reading the post refered from this forum, but I guess I was too late, all 300 slots are filled, the waiting list is not short too :(

fell sho mouldy, cz my 3133 like got a thin circle of water vapour or dust underneath the glass. just wanted a sexpert to open up ssrr n clean if possible.
