How do you time accuracy of your watch

How do you time accuracy of your watch
Coming from my last posting of the accuracy of the MM300, I am wondering what is the correct way to time the accuracy of a watch?

I am reading the specification of a watch to be +/- 10 sec. Is this per day or per week or fix throughout the entire running of the watch.

Let say if it is per day, that means everyday I will gain or loss 10 sec? If that is correct, then for a week (7day) I will gain or loss 10 sec x 7 (day) :o and for a year it will be 10 sec x 365 = 3650 sec = 60.8 min ~ 1 day :?

I am confuse :? :? :?
Re: How do you time accuracy of your watch
Yes, the accuracy is stated in per day for mechanical / automatic watches. My SKX007 has a variation of about +/-5 sec/day. I usually adjust it once per week (or when the reserves run down and need to be adjusted).

As for my less scientific measurement method, I usually note that difference in time against my phone or laptop's time which are sync'd to the reference time source via NTP

(Alternatively, you may wish to consider using http://nist.time.gov/"official" chronometer test is conducted:

60min is just a hour.

If you want accuracy get a quartz. =P.
Re: How do you time accuracy of your watch
I always sync my watches against SST ntp, if cannot establish connection to SST, I head to time.gov next. I found that the the ntp are pretty in sync, rightfully! I try to get my watches synced to within a minute...

Having said that I seldom monitor the accuracy of my watches, with exception of first few wears of a new purchase...

Watch accuracy doesn't bother me much as long as it doesn't go way off, e.g myself arriving 5mins early or late... And I usually wear them 3 or 4 days consecutively, so +30s/day is still wearable to me...

I too am not too bother with the accuracy but with the recent sale of my MM and the Sin U2, people keep asking me the accuracy of the watch .... so I need to find out before selling.
