Authenticaing a watch

Authenticaing a watch
Would you guys bother to authenticate a purchase if you have the papers of the watch?

Just wondering as I'm thinking of hooting one watch, been on my watch list for a while with box and papers, full set.

By the way, I'm talking about the Sinn SDR that I've posted in marketplace.

Re: Authenticaing a watch
It depends on how comfortable are you with that model. Don't assume there's no fakes, I seen fake Russian watches selling for USD89 and fake Seiko SKX models.

I just google Sinn U1 Replica, here's what came out.

Unless you know what you are buying, just be wary of scams.

Box and papers are nothing, there's even fake Rolex papers, certs etc.
Authenticaing a watch
Don assume unless you are familiar with the seller.. Whatever brands also got market for fakes!!!!!! Don risk ur bonus!!!!! :D
Re: Authenticaing a watch
Great.

Where can I authenticate a Sinn then?
Re: Authenticaing a watch
Moved to the watch section. Is it a local piece ? Can try THG ?

I have no idea liao  Self verify ? Just read on SG-ROC that THG has rather poor after-sales, especially for overseas Sinn, so I dunno how much help can they provide also.

Re: Authenticaing a watch
Look at the below threads:

http://www.sg-roc.com/threads/41938-F**K-UP-SINN-THG-service"http://www.sg-roc.com/threads/66417-Sinn-purchase-locally-through-authorized-dealer-gray-dealer-online" rel="noopener noreferrer">http://www.sg-roc.com/threads/66417-Sinn-purchase-locally-through-authorized-dealer-gray-dealer-online"http://www.sg-roc.com/threads/43112-Sinn-A-record-of-repeated-Defects" rel="noopener noreferrer">http://www.sg-roc.com/threads/43112-Sinn-A-record-of-repeated-Defects" false;

I was just searching to confirm if THG is the sole agent for Sinn. lol but if that piece is bought from THG, no issue la.

To the mystery bro, contact me, in case I decide to not hold on to it.

Will post some peektures later, tonight.

Should I, Should I not.......
Re: Authenticaing a watch
The Sinn is nice also lah, keep lah. You can wear it "roughly" and it takes abuse quite well, doesn't really show the scratches etc. I smacked a lift door open with my U1 before, not a single mark on the bezel or crystal.

Re: Authenticaing a watch
Dear JingXiong,

Warm greetings to you.

To reiterate, the watch has to be sent to factory in order to check on the authenticity.

We hope to have addressed your concern.

Wishing you a pleasant day ahead!

If you buy your watch from overseas and if your watch needs a servicing, you may consider the following 03 alternatives:

1) If repair is done locally there will be a service charge

2) If we send on behalf to the factory there will be freight and insurance charge of S$200 (exclude repair charge)

3) You may consider to send it directly

Further to the repair charge, a general overhaul (without polishing) for your watch model is approximately S$400.00 – for repair done locally. *please note that repair cost quoted is an estimation, the actual repair cost will be provided after the assessment on the watch is completed.

SWEEE.
Re: Authenticaing a watch
actually what's there to verify?

Movement is ETA, so just open and see. Bezel is tegimented, so just scratch it with a penknife - it should leave no mark. Otherwise any overprints. smudged printing on dial, etc (little bits of these here and there) are par for original sinns.
