Just curious... How fast is it running.

I remember a couple of post on new pieces running fast. I just wonder if it is a trend. :?:

Yea, how fast is fast. Is it 1 minute a day or 1 minute a week ?

Do note the 7S movt should probably be +20s a day ? So 1 minute over a few days is reasonable.

If you bring to K2, ah Goh will also advise the same.

Re: seiko stargate running fast
i'm still monitoring... so far it's roughly gained about 2mins over 3 days
Re: seiko stargate running fast
Its may just be magnetised only.

Its quite a simple cure.
Re: seiko stargate running fast
magnetised? so what's the fix for that and how to prevent it from happening again?
Re: seiko stargate running fast
I've read somewhere that resting your watch on its sides during night time will slow it down..you can try first before going down the shop. btw nice avatar! hihihi

2 minutes in 72 hours is technically within specs of the 7S36; it's rated as +45s/-35s per day. yours would technically be roughly +40s. It is on the fringe, however.

Also, give it a chance to settle down; i believe that many of the 7S watches are fast for a few days before slowing down a bit after normal wearing. Why open up the watch when you don't have to? :)

Exactly. It's well within specs. Don't expect it to perform at cosc specs unless you regulate it.

oh ok i wasn't aware e movement was rated at +45 / -35

and yeah, i'm not keen on opening the watch up either

Don't worry about it. Seiko movt are very robust, they will last you for a while. :)

Re: seiko stargate running fast
I'm not saying don't regulate it... it's definitely a personal choice. though within specs, +40 a day is on the fringe, and I'm not sure 'd be happy with it eitehr if I didn't switch watches every day. ;)

Give it a bit of time, and see how it times. Do a timing every 24 hours or so (lunch time, roughly 12:00 before going x-mas long long lunch!). If you're still not happy then, go for it and get it done; should be able to get it to within +/-10 without too much issues.
Re: seiko stargate running fast
roger that.... +40s a day stinks actually since e only reason i got it in the first place is to wear it regularly.

so back to my question, other than k2 is there a place to go get it regulated that's nearer to woodlands / mandai? thanksss

i think the closest would be the one at thomson plaza, the one called "ang mo kio watch shop" iirc. but his watch prices are quite exorbitant so i've never tried getting my watches serviced there. maybe you could call them and check?
