Shipping watches to overseas buyers - Which shipping method?

Shipping watches to overseas buyers - Which shipping method?
I am reading the PDF rate cards at: http://www.speedpost.com.sg/Airparcel.html"SpeedPost EMS" and "AirParcel")

For shipping to UK, 0.5 kg seems to cost about S$55 for SpeedPost EMS (2-3 working days) , and about S$36 for Air Parcel (10-14 days).

Am I missing something?

I expected to pay about $20 for 1-2 week speed.
Re: Shipping watches to overseas buyers - Which shipping met
It will be cheaper with registered airmail. Probably below $20 to US just for a watch head without box.

But do note they are only insured up to $80 and it don't cover watches.

dont trust registered mail !!! friggin hell lose all my mail
Re: Shipping watches to overseas buyers - Which shipping met
Yea, if you are shipping expensive items, better go with EMS. $30-40 but better coverage.

Hi roo7,

Do you mean "Speedpost EMS"?

This is the rate card: http://www.speedpost.com.sg/downloads/ratecard/Speedpost%20EMS.pdf"document", it's $37.15 for UK, $39.95 for USA.

For 0.5 kg "package", it's $55.10 for UK, and $61.95 for USA.

I am sending with original watch box, so I guess cannot qualify as "document"?

Or do you mean something else?

Thanks!

SingPost and Speedpost has too many services which is very confusing, the easiest way is, go to your nearest Post Office and ask them over the counter. They will usually recommend you the various options and the cost.

Sorry for being a digger. I am expecting a parcel from overseas using airmail. And i would to ask Bros here, does that mean all i can do is to just wait for e postman to knock on my house door?

What if e parcel did not arrived? Ask e sender or call singpost first?

Sorry for being a noob, this is my first time buying something from overseas.

Thanks.
Re: Shipping watches to overseas buyers - Which shipping met
If it's registered or via speedpost (ems), get the tracking number from the seller and hang out at singpost website ...

I think FEDEX should have a tracking number. you can track in FEDEX website...

If you have leave them your contact number, they should give you a call before delivery and arrange a date/time when there is someone at home to receive it
