Pls pardon a newbie like me.....I am having a internal battle to decide whether to get a Seiko "Sinn" or a Steinhart Ocean 1-GMT ..can someone advise me???

From sgroc I see those steinhart oceans always start from $599, maybe $550 the most? Cheapest I've seen is the green ocean at sgroc now going at $499?

bnib seiko sinn $300+ preowned $200+ steinhart gmt bnib $600+ preowned $400+

my opinion is buy both next wk both preowned total abt $700+ if u not rich man sure no prob coz next wk getting $700!!!:)

Cannot lar...Hoot first talk later is for CEO, CFO and Manager level, me belong to worker level....can only choose one....:) so Sinn is a must collect watch??? got people flipping Sinn??

haha, i don't think got such thing as a must collect watch. it really depends on individual taste bah? one man's poison is another man's meat, as long as u like it then can already. don't buy a watch because many others are buying it. buy cause u really like it and see already will feel shiok. :P

These 2 are very different watches... they are in a different category and price. The Seiko Sinn is definitely within your budget. Typical of Seiko time pieces, u are assured of Seiko quality and its an attractive looking piece. On the other hand, if u can shell out more $$$, u are getting a Swiss GMT time piece powered by a Swiss ETA 2893-2. There's no comparison between the Seiko 4R15 movement and the Swiss ETA 2893-2, they are not even in the same league (no disrespect to Seiko fans). The Swiss ETA 2893-2 is a reliable and accurate movement that hacks and hand winds. It is also equipped with a 4th GMT hand. For the Steinhart Ocean1 GMT, u can track up to 3 time zones and the additional money gets u a high quality Swiss piece with a sapphire crystal and 300m WR. In addition, if u've seen Steinhart bracelets, they are very well made solid quality stuff that u dont find in typical Japanese time pieces. Ultimately, u have to ask which one appeals more to u? If its up to me, i'll save up more $$$ and go for the Steinhart as it is more versatile IMO.

Whichever u choose just follow your heart. Can't be wrong one. Don't be like me heart say buy monster, but follow brain go buy Stargate. In the end buy already regret, sell Stargate buy monster. Troublesome and not to mention loss some money.

Haha no leh, I use my heart to feel and in this I like monster more but used my brain to rationalize that the Stargate's look was more suitable for office wear that's why.

Haha...I think SC bros here are friendly bunch who are enthusiast in collecting watches. To make life more interesting, some little "Notti act" is fine. I cannot buy both lar...later, my gf sure "KPKB"....worst then deciding which one to buy....so anyone flipping at a reasonable pricing to finance a better grail may tell me lor... Jia lat.....kenna second level poison liow...:(

I am seeking for a GMT one ler, no doubt the green bezel look outstanding too..I think I asked for 15% to 20% discount and pissed him off. He reply he does not open a shop. I did apologized and ask for his best price and kenna ignored liow...Reassured, I am not "Toby"...hope i am not pissing any one off... haha.. of course, my gf will love me deep deep....:)

Bro.... my advice is if you can compare both watches physically or go molest one by one physically... then your mind will become clearer..... if really cannot.... hoot the seiko sinn first since it is the cheaper one and decided if you really like it.... if not then flip lor..... and go for the gmt.
