Seiko BFK

Seiko BFK
Hi guys, was at Twinkle last week and 1 of the BFK caught my eye.

Never tried a kinetic before. Any advise on the Seiko BFK series?

I never bonded with any of the kinetics that I owned. The seiko paw mechanism is extremely efficient in quickly generating power, and I tend to think (probably unfairly) of their kinetic as a slightly inferior system.

Wished some of their kinetics were available as autos though...

Was looking at a bfk myself a week back... Needed something that didn't need winding(or at least not more than once a week or a month). The pvd all black version looks pretty nice, but scratches easily. Ended up getting a direct drive which I've been eyeing for a while.

Problem i see with the kinetics is how long they take to generate power, as well as the lack of ability to hand wind. This is where I disagree with bro herz. a person with a non active lifestyle will probably have a hard time generating enough power. After a full day of playing, winding and usage, I've barely managed to generate 2 days worth of power. My friend with a desk job has had his kinetic run out of juice.

Wow... This sounded bad... was attracted to the hands of the ska371 and the raise lime marker.. Also thought it could maintain its charge long enough....

Know of any other seiko diver watches with similar hands and marker?

seiko 'Boss'

also a kinetic but left side crown

alternatively, a quartz Seiko Pipin Diver has similar hands as well, also a Perpetual Calender diver.
