Advice on panda acquisition
So folks, I'm fortunate enough to came across this beauty:







going for around sgd300.. The dial too clean to be true ? Seller claim:

- All parts still Original

- A safe queen

- from picture: seems like second hand doesnt goes back dead centre to zero (is there anything watchmakers like Mr. Goh can do anything about ?)

- been a while since he brought it anywhere for service (I'm mentally prepared if the watch hasn't been serviced for 10years or so.. what am I prone to here ?)

Look alright to me.... ;)



As for the reset hand dun go back to zero is a common issue..... hand slippage probably! Ah Goh famous quote " No spoilt no need to do..... spoilt liaoz then do".... kidding... can still try to check with Mr Goh.... if no backlog for him... he'll be too happy to accept your job!



Just saw the black spot above the day/date window.... or just shadow.... :?:

Should I be worried bro ? Because I cant spot anything that points to aftermarket parts beside the red accent on the second hand that can be found in yours

Dun worry about the second hand.... do come in white accent too! ;)



Can ask the seller for some closeup pics to examine if you are worry!

Literally laughed when I read Mr. Goh's famous quote.. As for the black spot, I dont think that's shadow, I think it is a black spot..



I'm taking a gamble here, seller refuse to show pics of movement because he said the piece is a safe queen and caseback hasnt been opened more than 3 times.. He's afraid opening caseback now would damage the gasket hence compromising water resist

Actually he just offered me a video of the second hand resetting.. I gotta say, the guy seems legit, it's just that the price and not being able to see the movement is not my usual MO when buying a watch online

hmm, looks ok to me.



original bracelet as well.



300 is a good price less the small mark on the date window.



the alignment is still ok



for 6138/6139, i will leave the chronos running anyway ;)

Pulled the trigger.. Cant wait to get it on my wrist..



@lunar: yeah, original bracelet (at least it seems).. Cant believe I almost asked the guy to give me a black leather strap instead of the bracelet :p

yeah, I gotta say, only came across this gxgx thing in this forum.. My guess goes to: gx = gong xi (like gong xi fatt choy) means congrats isn't it ?

Thanks to everyone's input, the panda is here, on my wrist as I'm typing this post.. Will post SIC shortly to honour priceless guidance from seniors here.. As soon as I find out how to post pics without uploading them on the net.. :)
