Don't worry so much bro. A career is a marathon. When I finished school just nice the Asian Financial Crisis started. And that time was really bad... in terms of financial magnitude maybe not like the sub-prime, but because ground zero was east asia, things were really pessimistic. Cheer up, stay optimistic, crises don't last.

wah! ok.. i better not whine so much liao.[/quote]
where you working now bro? or you grad in end yr thats why now looking for job???

public service is forever recruiting so you stand a good chance if you really are looking for gov job.. but most impt is you like the job nature, be it pte sector or public service...

btw civil servants get 1.75mths this year end, so this entire year it would be 1.75+0.5+performance bonus = 2.25mths + PB [which can be like 3 mths or more] or more

Actually sign on army quite good what..

Meals provided every day, can save money buy watch liao. Every year need IPPT to promote so no choice but to maintain your fitness. Don't need to compete with FT, get to squeeze balls because you are the pay master... Good pay, decent bonuses. Best part is don't need to worry about looking for business or where to secure your next contract because sure got money from defence budget to spend one.

Lagi better if you scholar...

Bureaucratic wise, outside not that different from army, you still have to kow-tow to your customers, still have to take IPPT every year..

If I had knew life in commercial sector is like, I would have signed-on when I was offered the chance.

AT WORK...you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.

IN PRISON...you get time off for good behavior

AT WORK...you get more work for good behavior

IN PRISON...the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.

AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

AT WORK...you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON...you get your own toilet.

AT WORK...you have to share with some idiot who pees on the seat.

IN PRISON...they allow your family and friends to visit.

AT WORK...you can't even speak to your family.

IN PRISON...the taxpayers pay all expenses with no work required.

AT WORK...you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON...you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.

AT WORK...you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON...you must deal with sadistic wardens.

AT WORK...they are called managers.
