Re: Origin of 6309
ya replacement bezel insert....dial seems ok,hands r replacement.

dial seems ok because:

-details at 6oclock bottom of dial looks right in size

-silverish white paint of 'SEIKO' and '150m' which is correct...aftermarket ones have white paint though A.M ones g4etting better

-"Sword" guard n handle at 12oclock seems right thickness

-beveled date/day window
Re: Origin of 6309
Won't go wrong by referring to WUS or SCWF buying guide.

Usually the dial is the easiest to ID, follow by hands and bezel. lol

Re: Origin of 6309
dial details as we know though got few variants but has to be loogical esp the Japan 6309-XXXX part..... has to be some related info.. got Japan or no japan, singapore, hong kong etc.. this is just one consideration...also got the few points we know as what i mentioned above...also logical thing like..determine the year n month of the watch first by caseback info. from the production date we know if its an early or late example. late production mostly in hk or singapore etc. Japan would be for earlier production 6309 or for JDM 6306. And if caseback has

'Japan',the dial should have too..

also the way original prints of info at 6oclock will look different from a fresh print from a fake... also the way the lume dots 'spread' after decades of use...

just have to expose and handle more then will be more confidence next time..

Anyway, as long you want to put your money down, better check yourself to be safe.

Re: Origin of 6309
My 6309 shot using my iphone so dun hamtam me hor...:)

Dis pc is a super rojak pc so dun shoot me hor...:)

According 2 our doc goh,ceo n aiken...

Dial, case n bezel insert is orig...:)

According 2 me

Case over polished(becoz i love 打沙 since 16yr old when i got my 1st RX-Z... ) so i used autosol 2 giv it a bling bling look

Hands orig but is frm my skx007j which i potong jalan frm aiken

Crystal is dome sapp frm yobokies

24mm Straps frm K2(also knw as GENIUNE LEATHER PAROS 'PAM' STYLE STRAPS WITH 'PAM' STYLE BUCKLE IN CHROME)

But me got 2 questions 4 dis pc

1.considered 1/2 solved is the hands dat came with it.goh say is aftrmarket coz is not 'sharp' n the 'sharp' til now i stil dun reali understand means wat.oni tng i c using my loupe is the pointed tip of the hands r not sharp angled as the orig skx.

2.i c alot of 6309,6306 n 6105 the lume is abit 'PONG' n hav a lower outline on the dial while mine is flat though can c is of 2 diff tone... :?: so wats the diff???r those relumed or is my not rite???

Anyway i m veri happi with dis coz i not mpm so if looks gd than is ok 4 me liaozzz...:)

Hope i no OT again...:)
Re: Origin of 6309
Astro ,you got a nice piece and bezel+dial is correct...nice dome crystal too, makes the dial stands out..

my 5 cents is;

-a lot of replacements of hands in 6309 are done by using skx007 hands as it fits n looks almost similar.. fakes one tend to be either too sharp(crude sharp like stamp cut out from a metal sheet) or maybe slight rounded at the 3 tips of arrow minute hand..

-till now, from those 6309/6306 lume dots and markers we see, they should have 2 layers...like the lume should be raised slightly like platform, in center and within the white dot hence giving the white outline.

If no raised platform (see under loupe),probably lume had spread away and left a thin layer.. but its normal...no issue... cos that's what left of the lume material.. u see NOS examples will have a high 'pong'.... :)
Re: Origin of 6309
Thanks bro at least now i knw y mine not so pong liaozzz...

The prob now is the watch look damn weird coz in the dark... The both hands sibeh lume loh...:(

Btw dun get cheap loupes coz if use long x ur eyes will spoil...my right eye now is no medicine cure liaozzz...if u c those ah peks or thais who 'play' amulets most of them cock eye liaozzz coz 'teow' amulets 2 much using cheap loupes...best get orig b&l or ziess which is also not veri ex...abt $100+-...n if 1 look more accurate i tnk 10x is gd aldy...

Re: Origin of 6309
Here is a question for devil00 bro: where did your friend get the 6309 diver?

eBay? Buy fm Collector? Handed down by relatives/father/grandfather?

Wherever he sourced it might give u an idea if there is a chance it being original, close to original, or just rojak aftermarket.

This above one to me seems rike original set cos the tips are almost same length whereas the other one all different length like 1,2,3...getting longer for second sweep hand. even SKX series hands also should be even length at tip(minus second hand)

also, original 6309/06 hands should be real flat...and not 3D raised rounded surface.

but then now ebay aftemarket hands also got same length tips riao...
