Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
The killer attraction falls onto the sword hands as well as the orange lumes.

The rest of the watch is as much as possible looked closed to the Ocean Vintage Red, except for the lack of date wheel.

This model is first launched here in our land. Steinhart Germany put it up for sale in their online shop couples of days later.

This model got it's first buyer from our land as well, and he's the one who break the news in WUS.

For me, the lack of date wheel sets me 2 steps back. But then the low profile, military look pulls me a step closer.

Hard choices.

Gnomon selling this model @ the price of SGD$600 approx.

me too... need the date....

if buy from steinhart direct, its 278eur w/o shipping... (278EUR*1.8(eur to sgd credit card rate)*1.07(GST)~=540SGD)

think can consider getting from gnomon if its abt 600SGD
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
I'm a big fan of the milsub, but this just looks a little off. To me 42mm is just a tad too big, and just find steinhart a little too chunky. The sword hands look a lil oversized too IMO

the 'patina' also abit overdone... should have an acrylic crystal option also... but its quite a nice one overall...

I got all my 3 Steinharts from Gnomon by walk in. Taking into considerations of after sales warranty issue in mind.

Pay a little more(one blue note) is worth the price lah.

As for the hands, i don't really find it too big as there are numbers of post modding done on other Oceans which i've seen in WUS forum the uses almost the same sized hands.

The lack of date... is like roti prata without butter... taste a little bland but still authentic to the original taste.

their operating hours abit jialat. 7pm on weekdays... i cheong there after work abt 645pm liao.. can only go on sats :( :( :(
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
what time you knock off? from where? you driving?

All the 3 i got are mostly at their closing time, as it takes me 1.5hrs trip from alexander to beach road when i knock off at 1730hrs. Usually if you're really serious to get the watch from them, can call them, so that they'll wait for you for roughly 5mins or so to close the last deal of the day.
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
Bros i think sold out already, go there also no more. Just wish they can stick to 40mm sometimes and a thinner profile. Can check out Orange watch company, I think they do the best Milsub homage, but the guy take sibeiiiiiiiiiii long to finish making them sia, been waiting since i dunno almost a year, still not done.....

my journey to beach rd from office will take ~45 mins from office, its not far but the peak hour traffic kills. I don't drive, but mrt takes a big loop to reach bugis/city hall. Knock off at 6pm so 645pm is somehow a right time....

haha how to be 100% sure before seeing it in real life... will feel obliged to buy it if i trouble them to wait for me :( :(

think will just wait till saturday before i molest the watch, that is if they have it in stock.

can tell them i know you to get d/c? haha since you are their regular liaoz

sold out as in production stopped? or just have to wait for gnomon to stock up?

OWC bezel looks nicely milled..... but not cheap eh? 400usd (before shipping and GST) for a seagull movement....

ORANGE? Isn't there's a discussion thread in WUS mentioned that the movement used is China movement, right?

Anyway, ORANGE piece are good looking... but the price tag... I rather go for SANDOZ.
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
Think gotta wait for them to stock up. But cant molest for the moment.

Ya isnt cheap for the OWC, but I've been talking to Dan the owner, and he really goes through a lot of pain to ensure that the watch case and all is in tip top condition. The latest batch comes with ceramic bezel and he pressure test every single piece.

Ya its a seagull, or can op for the soprod which is like 600 USD. But like I said, the build quality is top notch

No lah... the stock sold out, just waiting for another batch of stock up that's all. If you're interested, just call Gnomon to place an order, then wait for their call to you on notifying the arrival of your order lor... Gnomon's stocks seems to come in 2wks once. Counting in the worldwide order response factor... your best bet would be FHFL go to Gnomon physically to place deposit lah

wah like that will they make use of this chance to jack up the price? I mean they still need to pay rent and all...
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
The price is the same since march, when i got my Ocean Green from them. No jack up ba... if you look at their online catalogue, @ USD$420 = SGD$600, that's about 1.4x in x-change rate. Of course lah... you might think that the price is outrageous, but after you count in the shipping fees and GST... it's about 1.35 or maybe less lo...

I'm about to place an order for OVR with them... but still have to look at what will i get in my pay check at the end of the month lah...
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
Just checked. Stocks will be in next week, but as to which day, gnomon cannot confirm yet...

Anyone intending to fhfl hoot?

I'll take these few days as a cooling period, see if it still appeals to me then...

Drawback of getting this piece is that it may further poison me to get a 5513...

Many a times I got subsitutes, just to find myself getting the actual intended grail, and selling off the substitute (at a loss)
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
No offence intended, but if you're the kind of folks who are "molest first, pay later" type of consumer... i suggest that you don't confirm your order yet with Gnomon. It shall be much safer if you try that piece on your wrist before you go ahead to make the payment.

Don't worry about the size, unless if your wrist is so slim as other ladies wrist. 42mm is just a tad bit bigger than the SEIKO SNZG1x Military Field Watch, and it fits most our wrist well. Just imagine you're holding the SAR21 with the wrist you wears the Steinhart...you cannot resist that kind of sturdy and macho look.

(no worry one lah... the moment i put the Steinhart Ocean Green onto my wrist..., i take out my card liaoz :D :D :D )
Steinhart Mil Sub
I finally caught sight of this after few posts by our bros here!

Lovely! How could I missed it? And can pay by credit card, how wonderful, this means that I can hoot first then worry next month. Wasai!

Will be finding excuse to drop in this few days!

Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
Just before you go ahead to pay with your credit card... take note hor...

Paying by credit on the spot will have some surcharge imposed. Some sellers charged $10, some charged 3%, some charged 10% hor...

It's the best if you can pay by cash... I can't remember how much does Gnomon charge, but that few dollars can get you a meal at the japanese stall in Shaws Tower.

If you wanna see actual piece, think next week then give them a call bah, unless you are going down to make payment straight and collect next week....
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
Looks dem nice man. The "patina" seems a little over the top though. Naturally aged tritium doesn't really look like this.
Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
more poison

Belongs to stew77 on WUS

belongs to cocobat on WUS

Re: Steinhart Mil Sub
1. Patina is a tad overdone

2. No date (well, can't please everyone eh ?)

3. Goggle: Debaufre Ocean 1 Classic (it doesn't have sword hands but there's just something about elongated inverted triangle with no frame that just got me)
